I think we might, I mean look at the cap penalty the Predators will receive if Weber doesn't retire as a predator. It's not the player that gives the Habs a first, it's the fact that the Predators cannot afford to say no if Weber's career is really over.

Whether Weber retires as a Hab or Predator doesn't matter. The recapture penalty is based on the front loading of the contract.
If Weber retires due to been on LTIR...no recapture penalty.
