even habs vs leafs had atrocious reffing

It wasn't the best. But tonight was holy f*cking hell, next level bad. I'll reiterate what OP said - Leafs did not deserve to win this game. But f*cking Christ.

The refs are always bad, just something to get through imo. But anyways the first 4-7 games are usually super weird, Tampa loses to Pittsburgh, Winnipeg loses to Anaheim, Montreal loses to Buffalo. Odd things happen early. Give it time. Habs fans are freaking out already lol.

In a back to back game, having a bad period is expected in the second game.

Normally I think blaming the refs is a cop out but I do think that they can do better.

As long as the Leafs make the playoffs and win a round, I’m gonna call this year a success

During that game, for the first time in my life, I legitimately contemplated whether or not I wanted to continue watching hockey. Now, that's due to a combination of a few reasons, but watching games officiated like that just put a serious feeling of pointlessness in the pit of my stomach. Felt like my time was being wasted. It was just a ****ty feeling.

I legitimately wonder how the league can be okay with games like that. For a sport that’s trying to grow their viewership, they sure aren’t off to a great start this season.

been watching every game this season and yeah it is flat out embarrassing. tonight takes the cake with the sens and leafs though, both sides got royally screwed by the refs, i dont care what the score is, i dont care who got the last penalty, if there is something there call it
if you're going to call a hook do it consistently

and i dont care, l.ifting a stick is not a hook. sens got called for it and leafs got called for it twice, is Engvall and JT supposed to just let the guy shoot? NO you lift the stick, thats always been allowed. absalute joke and its like it in every game that every team is playing. its actually embarrassing and cringe worthy to watch

As this is kicking. Yet the Refs refused to review it. Cause lets be real if it was reviewed it would be no goal.

I know the NHL changed their definition of what kicking is but what Tierney did fits their new definition of a kicking motion.

If players are allowed to kick the puck in the net now due to the new rules what will be allowed next. And with this comes more controversy and problems for the league.
