Marner should have got 9
then take Ritchie out and MIkheyev or Engvall would fit fine in there.
Other Than that this team is much better then what's out there now.

The Florida trade wasn't going to happen, Zito declined it

I betcha 95% of Leafs posts do not have 22 or 23 man roster. All that effort to make trades and then to conclude with such an impractical rostershakes head
I thought the site was "CapFriendly", not "I'm going to acquire any players I want"

Wrong, the Panthers were asking for Dermott and Johnsson according to Friedman. Dubas was the one to decline the trade

Actually, the Panthers were asking for Dermott and Johnsson according to Friedman. Dubas was the one to decline the trade thinking he could get more for both players

Can't find the quote/article, but I think I saw CJ's said it WAS the panthers who declined the trade. Maybe you have something to say vijay.

I know, I saw when Friedman said that.
But he also said Mikheyev requested a trade and Mikheyev himself said he didn't request a trade.

But I very well could be wrong.

Why would Mikheyev admit that he requested a trade to the fans and the media? It's like players saying that they don't think their team is good. They will never say something like that publicly or that they aren't happy to be on the team

One of the computer boys confirmed that the Weegar trade was never even considered and was declined by Zito. OP is as usual, talking out his ass

It was a mistake to not sign Matthews and Marner to 8 year deals, and it was a mistake to sign them for near McDavid money, Marner especially. Matthews at around 11 and Marner at 8.5-9 would have been much more reasonable, and left more room for another top6 F or top 4 D on your roster.

I agree with the Colorado and Florida deals, it seems like there were 2 mistakes there.

The Seattle one doesn’t make much sense to me because there was no way to protect McCann without paying the 1st and 3rd Seattle wanted.

They don't publicity come out and request a trade right to the media, but they don't deny that they requested a trade when asked though, either.
