Mother of god…

At this point Adam Fox is likely making as much as McDavid with how defenders are being paid.

I mean ehhhh, that’s a little much, he shouldn’t be making more then Makar, especially on an 8 year term. Whatever though. Fox is going to be a very wealthy man.

It's nice that he's young and likely won't decline much (if at all) during the term, but I would have expected a little less AAV. Not awful though (imo). He's really good.

Fantastic deal. One of the best D in the entire league signed through his prime. Arguably the best 5v5 D in the entire NHL. Excellent, excellent player.

God I hate that he is a Bruin.

Hard to argue he's not worth it given the offseason DMen had this summer.

If you compare to the look a like, hes better than nurse, werenski not makar, he has more term than werenski and makar, we will have McAvoy during all his best years, the only thing i can see wrong is because of injuries history, but if we protect him we will have a really good contract

Perfect for a top3 D in the league. Now's the time to play on PP1 and hit 60 pts/season.

Market was already set but McAvoy is definitely in a class above guys like Nurse and Jones.

Expensive, but worth it. Should provide value throughout the entirety of the contract length.

I like McAvoy, but 9.5 is too much. I think around 8M would have been fine.

Seth Jones got as much as one of the better defenders in the league... yikes

Great deal for Boston. Will age like fine wine.

It's expensive, but it's well worth it. McAvoy is three years younger than Jones, which should lessen the chance of this turning into an albatross at the end.

Market money, but no team friendly discount as Boston usually do. Probably, they decided to compensate Charlie for the current contract

Oilers fans should be fuming at Darnell Muses’ contract after Pulock and McAvoy signed extremely team friendly contracts

More so than Mike Z’s extension, this means the eventual Fox extension is probably what keep NYR out of the Eichel sweepstakes…

But also he didn't give a bridge 3 years either.

I guess what I find most interesting about this signing is that he's likely their 4th...ish best player making BY FAR the most money.
