Sanford was playing last night? Barely noticed but I assume that comes with coming into an unknown system. Unfortunate about Bran but it makes sense for roster implications.

Pinto was a force last night. What a player. Super excited for him to grow.

I love Holden. But, J. Brown leaves a lot to be desired. Hopeful to Bran and Holden together on the third pair.

Only watched sporadically due to being out with friends last night, but I thought Sanford looked noticeably good in what I saw. Had some nice offensive chances and was generally solid. Still think he's pretty unremarkable, but if he's impressed the coach, and if he can be a capable stopgap 4C it's a good situation for Ottawa.

As far as the D is concerned, I think they're pretty close to optimal. Chabot-Zub is obviously a great fit, and I think playing Zaitsev in a reduced role with Mete can mitigate some of the concerns with his play. Holden is just really solid, and I think ultimately he needs to play the right side so they can get Brannstrom in, I'm not super worried about Josh Brown when he's with Holden in the mean time. Basically as long and MDZ stays on the outside looking in, Ottawa isn't doing terribly.

I heard Brannstrom was a paper transaction so they can bring a goalie up. Was the only D they could send down. I think he’s going to play. Zaitsev needs to sit tbh.
