MP for DeBrusk didn't make sense for Boston last year....or during the off-season....or now

Pettersson fits the need for BOS and Debrusk could be a replacement for Rust if we part ways with him

If he was for sale, there would be a massive bidding war for him

How does that fit the need? Maybe take a glance at the Bruins roster

Fit what need? Boston needs a legit #1LD, and MP sure as hell isn't that.

i dont know many teams that need a 5th/6th dman being paid like a 3rd dman. Bruins have 3 guys on the left side already making 3m plus. forbort/reilly/grz are all better options than mp for the bruins right now. if needed we still have zboril and moore on the roster as well. dont see MP as a remote fit for boston at all.

I think you'd get a solid haul, but I'd question if there are any example out there of a rental being traded for a 1st, cheap roster player who has a couple more years of control, and has also put up .66 points per game over the past 2 season, PLUS a recent first rounder who's only going into his sophomore season.

Malkin to FLA makes sense, since I believe that FLA is one of the only teams he would waive his NMC for, but I cannot see them getting that kind of haul.
CHI trade wont work because they already have too many forwards as is, so they would rather get rid of some.
Rodrigues could be dealt, but I doubt he gets a 5th back.
NYR would be a nice addition, but I cannot see NYR accepting.
BOS no longer needs a D, I think ARI or ANA could work for Pettersson.
