Kings aren't buying out their future hall of fame goaltender so they can replace Tkachev with Yamamoto. Tkachev is looking good so far this pre-season/season.

They'll let Quick stay until his contract ends. If someone calls looking to give up something to trade for him, I'm sure Blake would consider it. Otherwise, he's a more than capable backup to Petersen.

In both pre-season games and the opener, he has been both noticeable and effective.
