Anaheim wouldn't trade Comtois for Monahan (incl retention) even up, let alone add A prospect Jacob Perreault.

Monahan would have way more value at 50% retention to a contending team. Cap isn't an issue for Anaheim so wouldn't get any sort of premium for him there.

Just spit balling, what about flipping Monahan at 50% retained to Toronto for Kerfoot + picks/prospects? Similar salary and I'd think Monahan wouldn't have them on his NTC with him being from the GTA and Leafs being contenders. Adds another layer of depth to that Leafs offence at a similar salary.
