I could see the Canadiens agreeing to that if they are out of contention.

The team already committed term and money to Byron and Armia as the veteran mainstay bottom-six players. Lehkonen becomes more and more expendable on a non-contending team as time passes and will eventually be replaced by Ylönen and Harvey-Pinard, natural selection.

Can't see them moving newhook to rent hertl but having a solid plan b for the playoffs at center with kadri being unable to control himself seems wise.

If the Sharks retain half and take Compher there needs to be assets added. Either pick or d prospect

Trading Newhook is a non starter. I like the idea of Lehkonen. I’d rather see a 2nd line winger like Olafsson or Kessel than Rackell whom isn’t the player he was 2-3 yrs ago.

Totally agree. The Avs need Newhook for the next 5 yrs. Hertl would be an awesome add but I totally get SJS making Newhook a prerequisite.

Hertl would likely come with an extension. Don't think Sakic would part with a top prospect for just one playoff run.

Sharks don't have a lot of leverage since Hertl has a 3 team trade list.

A good comparable is the Stone trade, where he got an A prospect (Brannstrom), a 2nd, and spare parts... and that was with Stone extended.

I think the Habs trade only happens if Habs are out of it but yeah could work.
