LTIR Shenanigans

Description
With a couple of serious looking injuries to VGK, cap won't be an issue short term. I'm sure they can make it work long term with Eichel out 3-4 months according to Emily Kaplan ESPN, with Patch and Stone both possibly heading to the IR as well.
A Dadanov trade seems like a reasonable idea or I've seen Patch trades on the Vegas page, but idk how that makes them a better team.

Flipping Smith - I have some friends who are Rangers fans wanted to trade Strome for Smith/Marchessault in the event that NYR got Eichel. So the interest was there, but not sure if they'd still want Smith in this scenario. I'm also confused to Kravtsov's value - as he was every Rags fans centerpiece in an Eichel trade (lol) - when he didn't make the team... LMK if a pick needs to be added or a conditional on Smith extending, etc. If it's not the Rangers, I think he fetches borderline 1st round value as a rental at 2.5 mill.

Lol we are not adding Ryan Johnson, he's the 3rd best asset in the trade

Yeah maybe. Anyone you would put there instead? Add another pick coming back? Johnson can also walk with his rights after this season IIRC.

Vegas is going to be reluctant to give up Tuch a 1st and a 1st round value in Smith along with Hague, and Dugan is a pretty solid prospect IMO. Correct me in I'm wrong but they're going to have to move on from another roster play to clear the cap in another deal. So I'm pretty content to give up a solid future asset to get this done.

Dahlin Power Hague Bryson Sammuelson still gives you some stupid depth on the left side. Wouldn't hate bringing Hagg back.

p.s. feeling generous watching Sabres hockey that's actually enjoyable to watch

Fair. I think it'll be one of Tuch or Krebs. More hesitant to part with Krebs, and Tuch helps them with the cap too. I also love Tuch more than most

We aren't adding anything to a trade that has no good prospects

Nah we have until 2023 with him. That being said, I personally wouldn't be opposed to parting with him, given Dahlin + Power + Bryson/Samuelsson. If RyJo was the difference maker in bumping up from Dugan to a better prospect that's fine. LW is our most stacked position organizationally, with Skinner and Asplund likely having long-term roles there (and Olofsson who's playing off-wing right now) + prospects in Peterka, Rosen, Poltapov, Weissbach, and Murray all having legitimate NHL chances.

Center is probably our biggest need, then RHD, then RW.
