The Top 10 Draft Busts of 2007

No lie Cheraponav died at like 19, that was just tragic. I think bust is a little harsh since he never had a chance to play because of his untimely passing.

I admit it is somewhat harsh to put Cherepanov on this list.



At the same time, the Rangers did spend a mid-1st round pick on him and were expecting a successful career from him back in 2007.

If he was drafted as a 2nd round pick, he likely would not be on this list.

It is what it is.

Never reaching one's potential is basically the very definition of a bust.



In my posts about draft busts, I don't discriminate 1st round picks like Cherepanov or Luc Bourdon from anyone else in my lists.

They either pan out in the NHL with successful playing careers or they don't.

It's that simple.

You can't put Cherepanov in this spot. He wouldn't have been a bust if he had not died.

I think we will never know.

yeah this guy is brutal, calling Cherepanov and Bourdon busts when they died at 19 and 21 is ridiculous
