He's shown some decent ability but it quickly goes to sh*t after you give him more ice time.

He'll be a little better than Greene or Chara imo though.

He would be a much better LD than Greene at the very least. Hajek is absolutely overhated by the Rags fanbase for whatever reason. I think he's a solid 3rd pairing option. You don't want to play him 20 minutes per night, but he's definitely serviceable on the back-end. I think the proposed trade is a somewhat decent depth swap, between Bellows and Hajek

NSH isn't in the market for a goalie. Saros is entrenched as the starter until Askarov comes over to challenge him, and they're set for back-up options with Rittich and Ingram. Georgiev's contract is a little too rich to be of much interest as a back-up anyway - even for a team with considerable cap space.

Could retain 50% if that makes it worthwhile?

Not definitively. Shouldn't be too long.

A 3rd and a B prospect isn't a bad price at all, but price and cap hit aren't the main reasons NSH doesn't do this. It's need, and NSH just doesn't have a spot for another NHL goalie in the system right now.

Totally understand. Just saw some Preds fans on Twitter upset about Rittich's performance. Felt this could've been a good partner for Saros given Askarov likely needing another year or 2. Wilsby is also another fun player to watch in Sweden.

Huh. That's weird, as Rittich hasn't played a game for the Preds yet.

Ingram is penciled in to be the backup until Askarov is ready. He likely would have the spot already, if his personal struggles didn't derail his season last year.

Well yeah, he got some preseason action. He was fine. I'm sure there was a bad goal or two I'm not remembering, but it'd be odd to write off a goalie because he looked a little rusty in a preseason game.

Oh. Well Saros has definitely improved since 2017 and with Askarov, The crease should be fine. He's likely just a temporary filler.
