Regardless of how the big four do, one will need to be traded for cap space. I hope the Leafs build their core around Matthews and Nylander

Calgary fans aren't going to like this one. Also unless Sandin makes a huge jump, this d core is considerably worse.

If I was Calgary, I wouldn't do it for Tkachuk straight up.

I think the defense is upgraded compared to what we have now. Chiarot plays a similar role to Muzzin and we already have puck moving defensemen in Sandin, Brodie and Liljegren. Bortuzzo is a better version of Dermott who brings in Stanley Cup experience

Bortuzzo is by no means a better version of Dermott it’s just not even close, Dermott is a super solid bottom d pair dman. Also, Reilly>Chiarot, I understand it’s unlikely we resign Reilly but still, much better replacements out there in FA, so yes it is significantly worse.

Ah yes ben chariot, just what the leafs need, a guy who will take a million cross checking penalties, screen and tip pucks on his own net, not actually defend anything all while being hilariously slow and handling the puck like it gives him an electric shock that gets stronger the longer its in his stick
