This is dumb as we want Tavares taking faceoffs and someone will point out just swap Tavares and Bunting, but just something probably silly to look at

Its not a bad idea lol. I feel like Kerfoot is misused because of his ice time. He played so well in the playoffs last year when it came to increased ice time.
I would put Ritchie ahead of Engvall tho.

Lilegren >>>>> Holl too. Kid will excel playing with muzzin

I would absolutely love to see this:

Nylander - Matthews - Marner
Bunting - Tavares - Kerfoot/Spezza
Ritchie - Kampf - Kase
Simmonds/Kerfoot - Amadio - Spezza/Simmonds

Looks confusing but essentially Kerfoot and Spezza rotate onto that second line.

Then:
Rielly - Brodie
Muzzin - Liljegren
Sandin - Dermott

Nick Ritchie really needs to find his niche, eh?

Engvall vs Ritchie is not a comparison of their quality as nhlers but the role being asked.

Ritchie is bad defensively, engvall is above average to good.

Of course Ritchie brings a better offensive game and a needed physical game. So he's better overall. He just has no place on a checking line with a Kampf line is by default.

Kampf should play with other good defensive players which would be: marner, engvall, kerfoot, Kase, Mikheyev.

As he's obviously not going to play with marner it will be a mix of kerfoot, Kase, engvall and Mikheyev.

Ritchie can get more minutes by being the big body on the pp

Ritchie can play on the first two lines or fourth line but he cannot play on a checking line. He's simply bad defensively.

My concern with a bunting/Tavares/Spezza line is speed. That's a fairly slow line

I'd still put him on pp 1 or 2.

But his issue is he can't play on the 3rd line. So it's 1, 2 or 4

He can share f/o with Nylander and each take their dominant side.
