Pajuniemi is on the 3rd because I really like him and see him as the perfect slot in for the Rangers on the 3rd.
Yes Strome is worth a 1st, don't kid yourself saying he isn't

If you disagree with this trade, let me know in the comments (also there is a reason none of are the actual GM of any team, so don't get heated).

Kravtsov is an A tier prospect if you disagree with that then I presume your A tier prospects are (my S tier prospects) generational talents (such as Laf, Kaapo, Stutzle, etc). A tier prospects are prospects with a top 6 ceilings, but who will not turn into Crosby or McDavid.

A tier prospects have a ceiling similar to Barzal, Strome, Eberle, Kreider, etc.

Barzal is levels above the other 3

I have no problems with going after Kravtsov but a Hertl trade needs to include a good center prospect or I'm not a fan.

So baseline for me is 1st + Chytil (as it has been for months) and if you want to throw in Kravtsov, I'd be okay throwing a 2nd or 3rd in the other direction. Trading a 1C for a right winger is just a no-go for SJ.

The trade itself is a crazy overpay, but it could easily blow up in NYR's face depending on his extension and Fox's extension.

Ultimately I just don't think it's worth it. In my opinion, stick with Strome, or go with Chytil. I'm not saying Hertl sucks by any means, but I struggle to see how him and his likely 7million dollar cap hit - that will likely see one of Lafreniere, Kakko, or Miller to be lost - will be better than the current "Bread and Butter" chemistry we have. Strome should come in at 5million maximum on his next deal. Otherwise we give the reigns to Chytil. It's just too tight with the cap hit to do this, unless some seriously drastic/impossible measures are made

I like the chemistry but maybe playing with a guy like Hertl whos been in a playoff hockey type of system (and is just flatout more skilled than Strome) might help Panarin adjust to Gallant's system (because he needs it BAD)

We have played 3 games and Panarin is a player who sleeps for the first 15 but then is AWAKE for the remainder of the season like AWAKE AWAKE.

Rest is filler besides the 2nd really

I wouldn't listen to that guy. Big Boston Homer who will tell you to shut up once you bring in advanced stats.

I knew I was waiting for this comment! What would you like give a realistic answer please

Treat any Hertl trade like a Mika trade. I think a baseline asking price for an elite talent like Hertl would be Schneider + 2022 1st. If there was an extension in place the Sharks would ask for more. Hertl is our best player by a mile, it's absolutely necessary to win any trade. Be it Vegas, New York, Minnesota, Colorado, etc

Edit: Hopefully this is a more complete answer that gives an idea of what us Sharks fans think.

NYR
2023 1st round pick (OTT)
2022 7th round pick (NYI)
OTT
Strome, Ryan

"Yes Strome is worth a 1st, don't kid yourself saying he isn't"

People adding 7th rounds picks, other than to balance number of picks being exchanged, make me laugh, there's no trade value in them. It just replaces a warm body.

Strome is worth two 2nds, high and low, or maybe a 2nd and a 3rd (like Buffalo). Yes you can trade two 2nds for a 1st, but a very late one, nowhere near where most teams 1st's will be, those who can afford him.

Ottawa has what should be a decent 2nd, their own, and a low 2nd, the TBL pick. That's a fair offer for Ryan Strome.

But there is a massive difference and that is that Hertl is walking and will walk in the off season, so the Sharks must trade him (unless they want to lose him for nothing)...

Not really. If the Sharks have a half decent season (which is very possible with new goaltending and hungry rookies) Hertl will resign. He loves the city and the team; he won’t screw over the Sharks.

Kravtsov couldn't even make the Rangers for four years. Rangers are far from a bad team but they're not exactly great. Hard to believe Kravtsov is an A prospect.

For Hertl the conversation only starts with Chytil. If Hertl would even waive to NYR since they are not looking playoff bound.
