Sell No Matter What

Created by: DollaBillaz
Team: 2021-22 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 10, 2021
Published: Oct. 18, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I like that GMBG just doesn't give af and knows this isn't a cup team. So I think even if the Wild are in a playoff spot he will sell knowing that were going to have to get rid of Greenway and Fiala.

- Our prospect pool lacks a solid right handed centre so I acquire one for Greenway. Moving Bjugstad opens a spot for both Boldy and Beckman as well. Than we fix weak RHD spot with Braun for the rest of the year.

- Someone is going to have to overpay for Kevin Fiala. He clearly just wants a long term deal and has looked great next year. I have Carolina pushing for the cup and giving up they're top prospect Jarvis. A cup contender will just have to give up there top prospect or Fiala, especially if he has around 50 points, 25 goals by the deadline.
- I know Carolina fans will say they're not giving up Jarvis but at the end of the day GMs will overpay if they no they have a good shot at the cup this year.
- Fast gives us veteran presence and he gives us a cheap contract for next season.
- Jarvis gives us a dynamic right handed winger which is a need in our prospect pool as well.

- IMO we should be looking for players drafted in 2019 and 2020 drafts that can be effective in the next 3 years on there ELCs.

-Jordie Benn can go anywhere.

I guess I’ll be that Canes fan that says we don’t give up Jarvis as you predicted.

Jarvis’ talent aside, a 3 year ELC top 6 player fits perfectly into the Canes cap after Necas becomes expensive, re-signing Bear, and keeping Kotkaniemi.

Maybe we overpay with Suzuki or Drury.

It seems like Dumba may be extended because he may be willing to be paid around the same as his contract is now which would be a bargain, and he was given an A. Zuccarello has a NMC and seems to be a mentor for Kaprizov. Right now Greenway and Fiala seem to be the odd ones out.

Agreed on the ideas here. I’d hazard to guess Rask gets flipped before December but otherwise I think the rest will be much closer to the deadline. I’m also not sure about these values but I think you got the right guys that will be moving out.

This first week has shifted quite a bit in terms of team needs so it’ll be interesting to see how things play out. A team to watch is NSH, signing Ekholm makes me think they’d be willing to move their first at some point.

Overpaying to get Fiala would be Suzuki. Jarvis is on the roster. GM's won't subtract from their roster to add questionmarks. Especially Fast, he's on pace for 82 goals right now. No joke, it's not sustainable, but he's on pace for it.

Dundon and Waddell have outlined multiple times the importance of Jarvis. He's untouchable at this point outside of like McDavid/MacKinnon deals.

Bokk would be fine from a Carolina standpoint, but his disappointing time in Chicago might put Minnesota off the sent.

fair enough, I just don't see us needing another left handed centre so maybe Carolina isn't the destination for Fiala if no Jarvis.

Can we agree that the Canes are keeping him, while at the same time refrain from McDavid and Big Mac comps?

And I’ve always been in the Suzuki camp for a Fiala deal if one were to come about. The issue is what the secondary pieces are.

Jarvis is 100% untouchable. That's not an "if no Jarvis" It's just straight-up "No Jarvis"

I’d like Bokk as a secondary piece but there is zero reason to insist on a right handed C. Suzuki has top 6 upside and is probably a mid 6 C.

Fiala needs to bring back an A/B prospect and the best pick possible. Once a guy makes the starting lineup, like Jarvis, he gains A LOT more value.

He's being thrown into the old Necas value spot. OR.... so untouchable, Patrik Laine is a pass.

I really don’t understand what you’re trying to say. Jarvis isn’t going anywhere. And WTH did Laine come from?

He's become what Necas was as a prospect because they hold the same value to the organization. Right-handed wingers with top 6 upsides, something that they do not have a lot of. And the Canes rejected a trade a few years back that was supposed to be Laine for Pesce and Necas.

Literally in the post, the wild want Jarvis and it's an instant no from Carolina. That's all I came here to say. I don't understand why you're trying to be aggressive

I don’t think the Canes are really a good fit for Fiala anymore. They’re pretty set on wings and probably aren’t in a great position to extend him for his price. I think it made some sense pre-Kotk OS, but less so now.
