The offer satisfies nothing of what CBJ needs, a bunch of bit parts and a late 1st round pick, and you have the audacity to ask For a $3.5m retention and 3 lower picks to boot???

i think you gave us too many assets back. i dont think the leafs would get picks pick with retention. also i dont this we are paying enough for laine. (hes going to get the role he wants with a true #1 centre he would perform well on a line with JT and willy)
as a leafs fan i say yes for the leafs but no for the jackets

leafs would need to shed cap for him so two of those three would need to go (engvall Kerfoot) keep the first in there but i still think leafs need to add a prospect like SDA or Abramov (a top 9 prospect is what im getting at) that might be the best the leafs could do.

as for the jackets. just send Laine over with that retention and no picks, because leafs fleeced you in your trade.

i dont see him being moved to the leafs anyways unless he asks to go there and he makes it clear he dosent want to go back to the jackets

all that said, interesting idea of laine to leafs

leafs need to throw in one if not two prospects and at least a second rounder for jackets to consider but if he makes it clear he dosent want to come back to the jackets and offer similar to this is all they will get (well an offer with more value attached)
