His celling is 4th line grinder. Kratsovs celling is elite winger, it’s gonna take atleast a 1st

As much as I would like all those deals to happen, none of them work for the other teams. Columbus is not trading texier at all, last I saw he was playing first line centre for them.

Don't see why Van do that trade Stecher has been a healthy scratch for Detroit who is a worse defensive team then Van, At that price we could be looking to add a guy like manson

He plays a game Drury likes. Kravtsov doesn't have that potential though. He doesn't skate or defend that well.

Kravtsov isn't worth a first round pick anymore
Maybe a 2nd or 3rd

KHL isn't the same as the NHL

If that was the case, Gusev would be a great player in the NHL

I might agree Smith doesn't work, but I also think people are being insanely optimistic to think Kravtsov is not really worth much. I would take a flyer on him with a low level prospect or something, but if NYR asked for a 1st round pick I would hang up. I would do a 3rd or an equivalent prospect

GMs used to make deals like Texier for namestnikov back in the dark ages (erat for Forsberg) but thankfully that's going by the wayside in favour of reason

Texier has looked *so* good so far in 21-22

He almost outscored namestnikov last year too

Gusev was a 7th rounder. Kratsov is still a strong prospect and New York has said that they won’t budge from their asking price

What does Gusev being a 7th round pick have to do with anything?

Let's compare Yegor Sharangovich and Vitali Kravtsov
Both from the 2018 draft, Kravtsov picked in the first round while Sharangovich in the 5th round

2017-18
Sharangovich (KHL): 12 points in 47 games (0.25 points per game)
Kravstov (KHL): 7 points in 35 games (0.2 points per game)

2018-19
Sharangovich (AHL): 17 points in 68 games (0.25 points per game)
Kravtsov (KHL): 21 points in 50 games (0.42 points per game)

2019-20
Sharangovich (AHL): 25 points in 57 games (0.44 points per game)
Kravtsov (AHL): 15 points in 39 games (0.38 points per game)

2020-21
Sharangovich (KHL): 25 points in 57 games (0.74 points per game)
Kravtsov (KHL): 24 points in 49 games (0.49 points per game)

2020-21
Sharangovich (NHL): 30 points in 54 games (0.55 points per game)
Kravtsov (NHL): 4 points in 20 games (0.2 points per game)

Both drafted in the same year, took similar routes to NA, put up similar stats in the KHL but Kravstov's NHL stats doesn't come close to Sharangovich. Sharangovich is the better player and has more value despite being picked later

Draft position doesn't dictate value
Prospects projects can change

This is just my opinion, But Dude, busts happen, Im not saying he is for sure just yet, but I am saying hes looking a lot more like a bust than a boom at this point. 2 different coaches and 2 different GMs have concluded he can not crack the NYR roster and should go to the AHL (in which he didnt kill it there either). So, if you think youre getting a 1st or some blue chip prospect back, based on what? Hes done nothing at the NHL level. Trust me as a wings fan it hurt seeing Cholowski turn into dust, we needed that 1st round pick to be good, he just isnt, Or Svechnikov. Continually thought to be a top 6 guy some day, every time some one put a trade with him away from the wings everyone would freak out saying exactly what youre saying now. "We arent giving up a 1st round pick for X" .. and now hes gone for 0 and likely never going to be anything, Think about if this kid goes back to KHL and you never get anything

I’m not a rangers fan but kratsov has lit up the khl, and NYs last coach was famous for not using young guys properly and their new coach and gm would rather have ahl plugs who can hit than actual skill players I.e buch for blais

Were trying to explain that KHL success is not always a translation to NHL success. Im also agreeing that doesnt mean hes worth 0 but i really think he tops out at a late 2nd or equivalent return

KHL stats doesn't translate to NHL success

First off in 20–21 kratsov had a higher ppg than sharangovich, 25 in 57 is not even close to a .75 ppg
Secondly kratsov is 2 years younger than sharangovich so the sheer fact that kratsov can keep up with sharangovichs numbers is saying something. Kraft sob is 21 he still has a long time before he enters bust territory

Says who?

Says rags management, says his numbers, says the fact that he still projects to be a top line winger

It was a mistake. 25 points in 34 games which is very impressive

Kravtsov isn't a bust yet but is no where near what he was projected to be

Either way my original point still stands, NYR want a top prospect for him and won’t trade for anything less
