Interesting note on the amount of COVID absences despite 99% of the league being vaccinated:

"With more and more positive tests continuing to pop up, there is growing frustration from players and team officials alike, per Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli. With over 99% of the league vaccinated and the players testing positive being asymptomatic, these missed games feel meaningless to the players and teams involved. Seravalli’s report mentions Carter, Nathan MacKinnon, and Mark Scheifele, but now fellow stars Letang and (Patrick) Kane have entered the fray as well. The NHL is reportedly already reconsidering testing asymptomatic players and now more fuel has been added to the fire. Changes could be coming soon." -ProHockeyRumors.com

Interesting. If a player is sick with the flu, and I mean really sick, the league does not mandate they they miss games.. No matter how contagious he is, he can still play if the team allows.

I mean, it comes down to luck, last year I was undefeated throughout the regular season and won but I already lost my week 1 matchup so that won’t happen this year ( hopefully I’ll still win though ). I would say I made the smart decision to invest in Oilers but not the big names so Nuge, Hyman, Nurse, Mack at 7 was great ( might’ve fell because he was in protocol to start the year idk, no idea how he was at 7 ), Philly’s D has been good for me ( Provorov, Ellis, I also have Risto but I may drop him ), Merzilkins, Campbell, and my new add Holtby has been a good 3 headed-monster in net

Undefeated? Wow, that definitely is hard to pull off once, let alone twice. I also lost Week 1, but Week 2 has been terrific.
I also have Hyman, he's been excellent so far. Wanted Merzlikins on waivers, but was beaten to it. I have Darcy Kuemper though, so not too worried about goaltending.
How the heck did MacKinnon fall to 7?! I drafted him 2nd overall! (And I stand by that decision)
I would drop Ristolainen, having both Provorov and Ellis is great though.

3 of the Final 4 teams from last seasons' playoffs are in last place in their respective divisions. And Tampa is in 6th place (would've been 7th had the Sens not blown a 2G lead late in the 3rd period today).

They'll all rebound except for maybe Montreal, depending on how long Price is out for.

Allen hasn’t been the problem. It’s hard to win when you don’t score more than a goal. Although things fortunately are going much better tonight.

True, I was thinking long term though, they'll figure it out on offense-they have too much talent not to.

Habs have scored more goals in the first two periods against the Wings than they had all season. Nice to see them finally clicking.

More good news for Habs fans: Joel Edmundson is back in Montreal and is expected to make his season debut sometime in the next 2 weeks.

Trotz is such a good coach that he’s choosing to break up the best pairing in the NHL (pelech-Pulock) to accommodate chara.

He's on my fantasy team, so I'd love that, but I was hoping he'd have an off-night tonight. smile
He looks quite sharp though, Bolts are going to have to find some offense for this one.

The Trotz mantra is very simple: The older, the better, and the younger, the worse.
Ergo, since Chara is 44, he's obviously the best there is (and since Wahlstrom is 21, he's on the brink despite having a terrific start).

There is not enough talk about how badly Trotz f*cks his teams. The isles have the deepest F group they’ve had in years but Trotz chooses to give huge minutes to defenseman who can’t them the puck lol

Babs wasn’t the issue in TOR.

Change my mind.

Perhaps he wasn’t the solution either but he wasn’t the problem

The issue is unexperienced, incompetent high up in the org. who’s too much of a soyboy to hold any of these 2 « superstars » accountable when they don’t show up

Draisaitl is grossly overrated it's getting crazy

Quoting: A_Habs_fan
It really depends, some people take credit away from him because of McDavid but some give him too much credit. I personally think he’s a top 3 Center ( after Mack and McDavid obviously )

I am a firm believer that Draisaitl is one of the smartest hockey players, I am also a firm believer that if he was a star player on a team without talent he would not be able to carry that team like someone like McDavid or Mackinnon could do, or Eichel back when he wasn't injured just to name a few. Draisaitl with talent around him is very good but without McDavid I'd say Draisaitl would be a PPG player so 40 goals 40 assists but with McDavid he gets a few extra goals probably 10 directly from him and about 30 extra assists from him. 120 points.

It has to take something like that to beat him. Garbage. :-D

Also. Obligatory Brayden Point appreciation post.
