A little Canadian Olympic roster nugget: Flames defenseman Erik Gudbranson says GM Doug Armstrong told him he IS on Canada's "long list" of players eligible to make the team.

Can komarov still practice with the isles or does he have to report to Bridgeport?

well if he's been assigned to Bridgeport, you'd think he'd have to report there

Also confirmed that Blake Comeau will in fact be captain.

Could be a paper transaction and he stays with the team

Well EK65 still thinks he’s elite, and the other guy to say that was Doughty, so probably not him.

Karlsson gets a ton of hate; if he was paid 7-9m there’d be less hate. I’d say Karlsson isn’t near top 25 D but if I had to make a top 50 I’d say he’d probably crack the list. Ig I’d have to see where I’d put Seguin. Both are good plays but have past their primes obviously. Seguins struggle is health, Karlssons is health and consistency.

I’m not “fine” with Karlssons contract but I can live with it whereas with Seguin I don’t have any major issues but his health is more worrisome than Karlsson’s.

I… uh… this seems like a pretty mean joke to put Gudbranson through all the extra testing for no reason. That’s what I’m telling myself, otherwise St. Louis might be in some big trouble soon.

Dahlen picks up his first two NHL goals and Karlsson picks up his first of the year. 3-0 and Montreal looks lifeless. Expecting a much more intense second period because they cannot start the year 0-4.

Montreal has not been good for some reason, i wouldn't expect a much better Habs performance

They cannot but they will. Do not understimate their ability to s*ck

When I first saw it I thought it was Buffalo's Dahlin so was like when did SJ trade for him

Then I realized it was someone else

I think Bedard's got competition for the #1OA spot

Matvei Michkov is already playing against men in the KHL and hes only 16yrs old
