Their trolling is kinda getting out of hand. I get that their Twitter is one of their few sources of relevance, but it looks childish and petty and I'm not saying this just because it's my team they're trolling. Look at their bio on Twitter lmao.

See at the end of the day it doesn’t matter what you think though. As long as their fans like it, and why wouldn’t they, that’s the only audience they need to entertain, and their marketing team is doing an excellent job of playing it up. The joke might be dead or dying to neutral parties, but if Canes fans still find it amusing that’s just great marketing. I also think this is pretty justified because it’s the first game the teams play, KK scored, etc. You know it’ll be every headline from every writer tomorrow, so it’s fine for their twitter account to still be like this. If they’re still roasting the Habs this consistently in a couple years it’ll be an issue though lol.

I think Edmonton just got the first faceoff penalty seen in the modern NHL

There’s usually one or two a year. There should’ve been one last week when I think a NYR guy won a faceoff with his hand. Was this an improper faceoff win, the delay of game icing rule, or infringement from a winger?

Mcdavid and Hyman were both kicked out of the FO circle for going to early despite being warned

Oh yeah, that’s more rare, mostly because it’s just stupid. Like if you’re the 2nd guy AND you’ve been warned, just lose the draw, it’s better than getting a penalty.

You stole KK, what more do you want from us? I mean Carolina got the better end of both Aho and Kotkaniemi, so what problem do they have with Montréal? If anything they should be thanking us.

This is like if Rangers fans were to make fun of the Blue Jackets losing after signing Panarin. You got a good player, why are you focusing on his former team?

I don’t think that’s a good comparison tbh, because it’s free agency and not a direct transaction. I think a better one would be CBJ roasting Chicago after the Saad/Panarin trade, which they absolutely should have done, and should still be doing despite neither player playing for that team anymore lol

Yeah, it’s going to a point where they’re trying too much to stay relevant

MTL and CBJ are such different franchises though, don't think it's an apt comparison. MTL has a type of legitimacy that CBJ is nowhere near of as well as the lingering "prestige" of coming of a finals appearance.
I guess what I'm saying is that to me it looks like Canes are punching up (relative to MTL) whereas NYR would be punching down (relative to CBJ) in your scenario.

Now I'm really scared, he had a great season last year in Texas, but after that things just went downhill. From his abysmal showcase at Traverse to getting sent down to the ECHL, he's really been disappointed.

I just don't think it's in LA's best interest, I think they'd rather keep those prospects and not try to speed up the rebuild

By that logic, the Devils should make fun of them for only offering Hamilton $6M. The Rangers should make fun of them because they traded a 1st for Skjei and because Adam Fox didn't want to sign there. In a nutshell, the Hurricanes doing that is not that bad, but if other teams start doing it the league becomes a sh*tshow.

Yep, I still don't like it though. It seems to be a less popular opinion, but I would rather keep 3 top prospects and a 1st rounder in what seem to me to be a very good draft, I think it makes your team better overall than just one player, even some elite ones. If LA didn't already have Kopitar at the 1C role I'd like it more.

Erik Gudbranson would be the Canadiens top P/PG scorer.

Eichel's injury makes him a borderline top 10 c, but top 10 in the world is an exaggeration. Until his injury is resolved, his value is not much higher than 1st, prospect and a bit more

Yep Gallagher is not the same without Danault and Tatar, we're really missing our leaders/veterans Weber, Price, Perry, Byron, our D is missing Edmundson and Weber

"Good" news is starting from November 1st, the waivers priority is determined by this season's standings.
