At least Byron and Edmundson are coming back, losing Danault as that top-line center (which I admittedly thought wasn't as crucial as many made it out to be) has been devastating for the offense. It also doesn't help that every single line looks completely out of sync.

Speaking of which Habs fans, how'd it feel watching Kotkaniemi score last night? (And I've got to say: this play sums up Montreal's season so far-KK has nobody NEAR him when he deflects it in-he's got 3 feet of ice clear of defenders on each side, and this is at even strength!)

I was happy for Kk, I liked him and wish him the best in Carolina, however, why couldn't he score on a team not named Montreal, we're already in immeasurable pain, that's just not helpful

You’re basically going to have 1 Top C playing 12 minutes. It’s not like the devils should delay Hughes’ trajectory to being a 1C and why would Hischier deserve being a 3C. Just not necessary to pay Hughes big time, have a 7m and 10m in two other Centers. Nearly 30m would be spent there. Yeah you’d have a wicked and league best Center depth but the Devils need wingers/ goal scorers and not a elite 3C.
