Entirely disagree with this. Absolutely no one on this website would be able to be an NHL GM. Posting on a forum doesn't convey the interpersonal skills you need in order to complete two of the three major aspects of the position (signings, trades). I think people forget you're not going to be discussing with a bunch of fans, you're talking with other people who have their own goals. Most of the people on this website can barely manage their emotions during an argument so I doubt they'll be successful when it comes to a hockey franchise..

I think you misunderstood what I was getting at. I didn't say that anyone could walk into a GM job and turn a franchise around lol. I know I certainly can't. Like you said, interpersonal skills would be a huge issue for me, among many, many other things. But let's be real, if you were to just do a yes or no vote to transactions

5rpz8x.jpg

among what would be considered the most knowledgeable section of non-affiliated hockey followers, there would 100% be times where the poll result would be the better decision than what the GM was going to do. That's all I'm saying.

Danault "didn't want to settle on a third line" in MTL. He was on the 3rd line with Grundstrom and Moore last game in LA.

Where did anyone say this? Because Danault obviously wasn’t going to be on the 3rd line in Montréal this year, and in the future Byfield would be even more likely to surpass him than Kotkaniemi would.

One of the reasons that made him leave is that he was unhappy to be given a lesser role, but it's always been a questionable decision because had the offer sheet never happen, Danault would have been the 2C for at least two seasons.

The Blackhawks defense is beyond atrocious. Watch the Detroit goals from the game last night-Fleury made the initial save multiple times only to have it rebound right to a Red Wing parked by the crease with nobody defending him (often Seth Jones's assignment) who would stuff it home, and that's not even mentioning all the odd-man rushes the Red Wings had off of awful, awful Blackhawks turnovers. I mean, just look at Raymond's first goal:

Fleury definitely hasn't been close to his Vezina self from a year ago, but he's receiving basically no help from his D whatsoever.

During this little lull period where there are no games, I wanted to share my favorite text interaction I’ve ever had with my father.

If you mean cap wise; they'd be sending a roster player back and he'd be on LITR until his surgery and recovery are completed. They'll manage.

If you mean trade wise....uh....Krebs and a 1st?

There are four teams still in the undefeated race: Florida, Edmonton, STL, Carolina. We're also seeing an early tank battle between Chicago and Arizona

Apparently his skating is raw and never fully developed enough to hang in NA ice so to speak. Still could have been an effective 4th liner though as he was doing well in Tampa and the only reason they traded him was cap space

The only problem with Calgary is cap space and the fact that Monahan probs has Buffalo on his M-Ntc

Unless they can do a 3-way trade to get Monahan on another team I just cant see it working
