Don't be ridiculous, you are not getting Caufield for a busted up Eichel.

Wait till Caufield blows his knee out. Injuries happen, stop being ridiculous

If he blows out his knee that isn't as bad as having a herniated disc in his neck and wanting a high risk potentially career ending surgery. But hey let's just be ridiculous all the way around!

Not without a new GM making drastic changes and a rebuild, where it doesn't make sense to move young assets anyway, for what might be a year or two of Eichel by the time the team is turned around.

Eichels surgery has a better recovery rate than knee surgery, stop being hyperbolic, your long past anyone buying that scare tactic anymore, or live with your delusions idc

I am delusional? Yet you and Adam's think your going to get top assets for a player who probably is going to miss another year of hockey! LMAO Adam's is a moron and you think he is a God!

The Sabres are playing with house money right now. They have no expectations, but a team with less talent is simply out working their opponents right now and winning games. How long can it possibly last? Who knows? But the team on the ice doesn’t appear to be missing Jack Eichel much.

MTL counteroffers with a conditional 7th for Eichel at 100% retained salary, with the condition being Eichel gets 200 points in one season.

Eichel is statistically having a better season than Caufield right now

Yes, a team that is 0-4 isn't in a rebuild. As UrinatingTree would say. "Montreal is trading for the IDEA that Eichel might be a top 10 player in the league, and they are literally giving away their best prospect to get him. How much stupid juice has Bergevin been smoking?

Why are you literally comparing a rookie to an injured player? You are literally comparing apples to oranges right now.

Yes, injuries do happen. However, someone who failed his physical and lost his captaincy is not a top 10 player, and who knows if Eichel will bounce back to his pre-injury form.

Eichel doesn't fit in Montreal without significant changes.
For better or worse, they've chosen their centers for the near future and can't afford to add another $10M down the middle. Eichel likely won't have an impact this season regardless, which would be the only impetus for making such a trade. Desperation to win now would be the motivating factor behind such a move, and Eichel doesn't address that.
