I would probably accept that as Tampa, but Raddysh does have a good contract and I feel like the organization overrates him

Not sure why NSH is paying for a goalie when they have Saros, Rittich, and Ingram.

They should be pushing for a WC spot this year. Since Feb 1st Ottawa is the 17th best team in the NHL... their goal differential doesn't indicate a playoff team, but they're close and should be pushing this year. I think they'll finish in the 8-10 spot in the East this year and be pretty happy with that.

Goal differential doesn’t matter because Ottawa are winning close games but if they’re off, they get blown out (largely depends on goaltending). If the goalies are off a game, they get blown out.

Pinto has been a big reason why , big upgrade over Stepan from how they started last year. Stepan was very bad. I don’t think they make the playoffs unless they explode but they’ll be close

I mean... reality is that they will likely not be in the hunt this year. The backend is a mess and unless the youth takes over and exceeds expectations they will be on the outside looking in this year again. Outside of Paul, all other players are vets and them getting moved means more youth. Looking at the sens last year, they were good once they forced DJ to play the young guys by taking away his vets.

I guess it is any team looking for depth at the goalie position at the TDL. I wouldn't trust Rittich to play meaningful mins if I was the Preds tbh

He should be fine in a backup role, but I doubt the Preds make the playoffs either way.

I see Paul fitting in beautifully in Tampa and Sens. Don't think the Sens are going to take any offer for him so would need to be decent

They were a very good team towards the end of last year once we got Pinto in and didn’t have Stepan on the 2nd line. We would’ve made the playoffs last year if we didn’t have that horrible start caused by the scrub veterans Dorion signed. This is a different team this year and if they can get decent goaltending , they’ll be in the running or at least close enough for a spot

What makes you think they "overrate" him they know a lot more than you . That's a pretty arrogant statement. Seems like you think you know more than they do.

Rittich is at least an NHL backup though. Forsberg's been proving he can't handle NHL starts for almost a decade now.

Outside of Moving Vets out for Picks, I don't see how any of these trades make the team better.

Paul isn't going anywhere he is a leader on the team, likes playing in Ottawa, and is hugely valuable.
We don't need Turis, he won't be able to keep up with kids. They have several options for 4th C already including Kelley who is one way next year.
Would rather Move Murray than Forsberg, but the return wouldn't be as great.

If we trade D away, JDB is getting a call up before Sanderson signs and plays, but both should happen at end of the season if they are near the bottom of the standings.

Formenton probably ends the year in the top 6 some way, and then Sokolov will get a call up for 3 RW as he plays off wing. Or Formenton and Sokolov are the new 3rd line wingers with White, Tierney or Paul whoever is left after trades.

IF Sanderson is gonna sign and come play then it is also likely Grieg could/ should unless Wheat Kings are going Deep in Playoffs, he is way too good for WHL 7 points in 5 games already and Captain of Wheat Kings.

IF the Formenton on off wing experiment with Stuzle doesn't go well, I see the Sens moving pieces for Giroux before any of the other players you have them listed as picking up.

Kyle Turris will never play in Ottawa again, Melnyk would never approve.

Nick Paul is basically what Raddysh could become. Will be cheaper the next 3 seasons though so maybe they should take their bets on him.

Personally hope Ottawa extends Nick Paul, he's a quintessential bottom-6 player

He shouldn't be too expensive, maybe 4 years x 2.5-3.0 or something

Considering raddysh was 5th in ppg for the ahl min.25 games played I think he will def be better than Paul In his prime

Ok but you know that AHL production doesn't garantee anything at the NHL level... particularly for a prospect that took 3 years to post interesting stats on a stacked team

Nick Paul was also very near PPG in 2018-19, in a larger sample size, in a non-covid season where talent wasn't diluted by taxi squads.

And guess who he was playing with? Logan Brown, a guy that was over PPG at 21 y/o (very similar to Raddysh stats at 23 y/o)

Anyway, doesn't matter.

The crunch are far from a stacked team and raddysh has been consistent thru his ahl career, aswell as trying to compare a 28 yearold man ahl stats to a 23 year olds is not great

Well, the Crunch have had great teams for a long time, everyone and their dog know it's one of the best systems in the AHL, which has provided a lot of good players to the Lightning, hence their success during the last decade. This is the Crunch place in the standings during the 3 seasons Raddysh was with them :

2018-19 : 2nd/31 teams
2019-20 : 16th/31 teams
2020-21 : 7th/28 teams

It's ok if you believe that Raddysh will be good, no problem with that. I personally don't trade Nick Paul for him. Like I said, he's a quintessential bottom-6 player

By the way, he's not 28 years old... he's now 26 and he was 23 (Raddysh age) when he put these numbers. Nick was a 4th round pick and a late bloomer.

Like I said, it doesn't matter who prefer who. There's not much more to say here, unless it is more inaccurate statements that I'd have to rectify
