I don't see how Ehlers or Bjorkstrand are underrated. Many are well aware of how good they are.

Couts is underpayed (on his current contract), not underrated. I don't think Cernak is underrated either.

I think it's less about recognizing their level and more about recognizing their level relative to the rest of the league. In these cases, I think Bjorkstrand is a top 25 winger and Ehlers should fall somewhere in the 8-12 range

Couturier got left off of the NHL's top 50 players list and I'd put him comfortably in the 25-35 range. Cernak you may be right, I just think he's viewed as a depth piece when in reality I think he's a top-pairing player

NHL top-50 doesn't mean much, it's subjective and political. They spread things around to cover all positions. Otherwise it would end up being something like 1 goalie, 4 d-men, 15 wings, and 30 centers.

If you put Couturier at 25-35 then Hertl is far more underrated as he was not on that list and I'd have him comfortably above Couturier.

Problem is, who you think is underrated is strictly your opinion.

I wouldn't have Hertl above Couturier.

I agree with a lot of these guys (depending on the exact definition of underrated) but I don't think Edmundson or Eller are anything special. Haven't really seen much from Wahlstrom as a pro but he's a gamer. Lots of times when the Blues played the Yotes last season I thought Pitlick was everywhere.

One thing I notice about these underrated lists is that all the guys usually have a nack for scoring at 5v5, whether they're feasting on matchups or just simply better tuned for the open game. And conversely, the overrated lists usually have PP merchants and one-dimensional shooters.

This is a pretty fair assessment of how it goes. As for Edmunson and Eller, I kind of tried to include some top of the lineup and lower of the lineup players to make it fit the mold of a more traditional team

Curious as to why you think Hertl is better than Couturier. Even since Hertls breakout season they've put up almost identical offensive numbers, with Couturier putting up far better defensive metrics
