Roy is probably our best player from this past draft, so he’s not moving.

Topi is looking more and more like a steal

Rn he is playing against adults and is tearing up Liiga on Karpat's top pair and hes only 19yrs old. Good numbers at both ends and despite being small has shown no signs of it hurting his game. Could make the team next season if he continues to play well

Wallander really has not impressed me. In his own zone his issues start to show as his defensive game is really raw in nature. This makes him a project and we dont want more of those

I haven't checked his stats in a year, I was just going off his WJC year. He is having a good year! Good for him!

Jets don't need any more LHD prospects, would do it for Tuomisto though.

Wallinder>>>

Nope actually Topi is lul. Topi is better at both ends and won WJC dman of the year back in 2021. He is doing better than Wallinder rn and while Wallinder is playing against peers his age Niemala is playing against men in Liiga.

In general, Wallinder is a raw project with to many holes in his defensive game. Only upside is his size and puck carrying skillset. Niemela is proving he has the tools to play in the NHL sooner than anyone expected.

I suggest you go check him out as honestly hes been one of those pleasant surprises who could crack the leafs lineup next year.

Recommend watching his MODO film. Topi is the one dimensional RHD while Wallinder is all more steady defensively. Not really worth arguing.

Already been watching him, hes Raw plain and simple.

Topi on the other hand has been proving to be a steal as his defensive game is already NHL level, and his offense is getting better and better. Plus at 19 is playing on Karpat's top pair and doing well in the role.

So as of rn Topi is better. Maybe in 3-4 yrs Wallinder will turn heads but rn nope.

Yeah been watching him, hes Raw and is not gonna be all that special for a long time.

I'll admit he has rawness in his game but he is a fantastic 1 on 1 defender. Great skater. Topi is nobody to scoff at but I just value Wallinder more in terms of his defensive abilities.

I mean Simoneau is 2 years older and didn’t look as good as Roy in camp. But he definitely could be a steal.

Winnipeg isn't trading away a solid roster defenseman for an LD prospect that would be 6th or 7th on the left side depth chart and a low pick.
