Doesn't Montreal need a Brock Nelson type centre and a cheap RD?

no clue what nelson does... but my problem is that suzuki is the 1C of the future. there's a reason why bergevin signed him to such a lucrative extension
a cheap rd would be nice but not in a suzuki deal

Deangelo and New York don't really fit together.

Habs trade don't really make sense.

Barzal age 20-21 in NHL
150 points in 164 games

Suzuki age 20-21 in NHL
82 points in 127 games

It's like comparing apples to a fruit that is way less good at hockey than apples 😐

Nelson is slightly negative value

At that $ at his age etc.

He was close to 0.5 pts/g last season

The 1st and Mayfield definitely unloads his contract

But what do they offer for Nick Suzuki's prime?

Lmao. In 2022-23
Greene still playing
Salo not playing
Dobson playing LD
Beauvillier on the 3rd line
Wahlstrom not in the top 6
Underpays to schultz and ADA
2 trades that will never happen.

I think lou is just a bit better than this.

Closer to 0.6 pt/g (26 goal pace ) - 16 goals in 41 playoff games over the last two seasons and drives play offensively. Nelson does not have negative value.

Ya'll need to go check Suzuki's stats ... he isn't a superstar ... he's just the best Montreal has.

He's also struggling hard without Danault taking all the tough match ups (0 points in 4 games).

He's also the same age as Heiskanen + Makar + Pettersson and only one year older than Matthews.

Superstars are usually superstars by their draft + 5 season ... he should be a solid 2nd line center though.

I like Bailey but why do the Canes do this? Why help a metro rival with their cap situation and screw our own over? Canes need more finishers, not pass first guys like Bailey. And boy is the other trade a doozy. The Habs already have a depleted center core as is, plus they haven’t really drafted that many high end center prospects, which should be their focus for a couple of years. Neither of these trades happen at all.

You very well could be right, I don't think Montreal believes you though, I'm aware he's not there yet, I still think there's a chance he becomes a 1C, maybe not a superstar but I don't think 1C is completely out of the question. The Habs gave him that contract as they believe he's their 1C of the future, they could be wrong, but I think he's about as untouchable as any Habs player rn.

This is a Rangers fan posting an Isles ACGM.

Lou isn’t getting fired, he will retire when he wants.

The Isles are not getting Suzuki.

The 2nd line is fine, Nelson and Bailey both are 50 point players and Beau may get there this year.

Even the Panik buyout is bad as they save more cap have him buried in the minors.
