Ducks Trade Targets

Created by: LosPatos
Team: 2021-22 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 21, 2021
Published: Oct. 21, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
ANA
  1. Kravtsov, Vitali
Additional Details:
Great young winger with a ton of potential. Could be a great fit alongside Zegras. Unfortunately GMBM is not very found of Russians, not only will he not target him, but he wouldn’t give him time on ice as well.
NYR
2.
ANA
  1. McMichael, Connor
Additional Details:
Nice young stud who can be developed into a real good center. Could be a 2C / 3C depending on McTavish, who I believe seems to fit well on the wing. McMicheal could also be a good replacement for Henrique.
WSH
3.
ANA
  1. Liljegren, Timothy
Additional Details:
Still has potential to be a reasonable defenseman. Could be a viable option in a swap for Josh Manson. High-risk high reward option but could always be a solid AHL’er too.
TOR
4.
ANA
  1. Brännström, Erik
Additional Details:
Similar to Liljgeren, could be a great defenseman to add to our young d-core. Price might be a little higher, but it would be a great addition.
OTT
5.
ANA
  1. Smilanic, Ty [Reserve List]
Additional Details:
Great young prospect who could turn out to be a great winger. Could be good alongside Groulx or Lundestrom in the future.
FLA
6.
ANA
  1. Strome, Dylan
Additional Details:
Good 3C / 2C who can replace Henrique, if we choose to move him at the deadline. Still young enough to improve.
CHI
7.
ANA
  1. Eichel, Jack
Additional Details:
Pretty self explanatory, just wouldn’t want to pay too much for someone we don’t know how will perform after a surgery.

If I’m the Capitals I ask for McTavish or something of similar value. McMichael is 1/2 of our top center prospects and there’s no real reason to trade him unless it’s an overpayment

I feel like McMichael is not available. Everyone else seems available to an extent.

Liljegren is already an elite AHLer at 22 so

How is part of his potential "a solid AHLer"

I don't get the impression that people watch him a lot because his defensive play is arguably his best quality, he's so dynamic, so not really high risk in that sense

At worst at NHL level he'd be like idk hm...

A marcus Pettersson type asset but more mobile

If the Leafs didn't have as much defensive depth as they have now, Liljegren would be in the lineup without a doubt. Give him time.

If GM is not fond of Russians...then he probably wouldn't be too interested in a 20ish yo Russian who takes the coaching to task upon their recommendations regarding what parts of his game to work on and off season conditioning....and then takes his ball and goes home when he doesn't get what he wants.

Strome would be interesting at the deadline if we get rid of Rico at the TDL

That's what has leaked out...but also that Drury "embarrassed" him in front of other players. Really no excuse for doing that to a guy (and believe me- I'm old school)...but this is the 2nd NYR FO that Krav has a disconnect with. The kid oozes with talent- but really needs to grow up. That all said- almost any team would be interested in taking a cheap flier on him- but I can't see the Rangers moving him without a semblance of value (pick, player, or prospect with a minimum mid 6 ceiling) coming back.

Erik Brannstrom is available but Sens need to get an interesting piece. He will be a good NHL player.

At this point, the Sens don't need to target a lot of positions. They have depth and prospect depht at basically every position.

It's not clear what will happen at center for example, it really depends on Stutzle. If he transitions to center, it would be Stutzle-Norris-Pinto which would be incredible, if not it could be Pinto-Norris-Greig which would be a lot better than people think at the moment. So will they need an Elite center? Maybe but it's not Brannstrom who will help bringing one back, unless part of a larger package

So the most important position to fill is RD, Sens need a guy who could play with Chabot. He has needed "his own Methot" for a while now. Ducks don't seem to have many good RD prospects... And I really doubt Drysdale would be available. Even if he was, they wouldn't look to trade him in a quantity for quality deal which is what the Sens would want to do.

RW is the only other position that could use improvement. Jacob Perreault could be a target.

Jacob Perreault for Erik Brannstom + ?

If I'm ever unavailable to post on this site I grant you power of attorney to speak on my behalf for all things Liljegren
