Oh boy.

Tarasenko isn’t getting anything close to that. Unless he lights the league on fire in the first half, he’s probably a second round pick + kinda guy.
Eichel doesn’t get that much either
Lindholm gets way more

My guess about Chytl is NYR want to give him a good look under the new coach, playing with consistent line mates. If he doesn't show signs of breaking out and they look to move him I think they would look to get players, picks, and/or prospects who wont command big money until they are able to get Trouba and Kreider off the books...which is 2024 (soonest). Would make little sense to acquire a player- especially one with Tank's injury history- who will further cloud up their CAP situation- which is about to get real murky once Fox is locked up.

Don’t worry about the Lindholm retention

If that’s the offer it isn’t happening

Ya this was assuming at the deadline and Tarasenko with some good value. If he wasn't hurt ever you'd think A roster player, prospect, and 1st rounder for a 35+ goal scorer. A first and a young roster player seemed about right and then add the 2nd to retain half of his salary.

I mean wasn't buffalo looking for an equivalent to 4 first round picks? I think they got more than that in this trade...

Plus this was assuming Tarasenko is on pace for 30+ goals and that he regained a 75% of his trade value back (If he wasn't hurt)

I get the lindholm trade is kinda tilted. I just ran out of pieces. I would much rather the blues just trade for Lindholm. I think it's a mistake if the blues have to pay this much for eichel.

No. He basically hasn’t played for two years, and he’s openly said he wants out. His value is drastically diminished.

You really need to catch up on this situation. This is not accurate.

Which part?
Did he not miss the majority of the last two years?
Did he not openly say he wanted out?
Has his value not drastically diminished?

1- I'm sure you'll quibble over it, but saying "basically hasn’t played for two years" (your original wording) is not accurate.

2- Where did you see him actually "openly say" he wants out exactly?

On the other hand, in the recent weeks, he has literally openly said the trade thing is not anything to discuss and he's focused on the Blues.

3- This one is accurate enough... for the moment. However, that could soon be old news, as well.

Okay, lets say that he hasn’t been close to healthy over the past two seasons, with multiple surgeries for the same injury, missing far more games than he actually played. I forget if it was through his agent, or the media, or himself, but he made it very clear he wanted to be traded.

If rangers are giving up Chytil, a 1st and a 2nd for tarasenko, and you are giving up those picks with an additional 2 late first round picks, why wouldn’t the rangers just offer Chytil+Kravtsov+two 1sts+2nd for eichel instead

1- He's been healthy since March, dude. And from all accounts is currently in the best fitness of his life.

2- Yes, and now he himself has told everyone to forget about the whole trade thing and that he's focused on the Blues multiple times.

And that's what I mean by asking you to catch up. Time moves on, dude.

1. Why did you edit my post?
2. Oh word. He’s healthy…until he isn’t. He’s had a disturbing amount of injury trouble with one body part.
3. What’s he supposed to say? A trade wasn’t available. Kudos to him for being a good soldier, but i doubt he did that big of a 180 in reality.

Bottom line, his value is diminished, and i think the expansion draft kind of shows that.

1- Uhh, to break it into the specific parts I was responding to.

2- Ohhhh I see. We don;t actually take his actual current condition into account, we should just assume a future where he's hurt again. Gotcha. "/

3- The first two surgeries did not fix the issue, the third one did. He has had exactly zero trouble with it since then.

4- Hilarious. Apparently, you assuming something out of thin air without even grasping the actual situation status is gospel now. Gotcha.

5- The expansion draft is entirely irrelevant. Frankly, I'm beyond tired of explaining this. So I won't. You'll just assume what you want to think anyway.

As for his value, like time it's a movable thing. And soon enough, we'll all be talking about how teams should have been more reasonable during the offseason when his value hadn't skyrocketed back up. I'm perfectly fine with how this is working out.

I didn’t say that his current health didn’t matter. I said that his injury concerns were, you know, a concern. Concerns drive down trade value.

A team had the opportunity to take him for nothing. They didn’t. That isn’t irrelevant.

1- Concerns are fine, but you did say "he hasn’t been close to healthy over the past two seasons" - which was inaccurate and what I originally responded to.

2- It absolutely is. A trade and an expansion draft are not the same thing. At all. And besides, no one GM sets the market with his decisions. Obviously.

In any event, it will work out how it works out, but for now he's giving his all for the Bluenote (and probably raising his market price a good deal).

Don’t you think if the guy had good trade value, the team that could have taken him for free would have.

Francis hardly did any expansion pick flipping. He preferred to just have Dunn, which I think everyone would agree was the right choice at the time.

Yup…because tarasenko has diminished value.
