Description
Formenton and Brannstrom might be more expensive but just threw some numbers for "at the moment". Also think Brannstrom might just get traded because of incoming logjam on LD

Love the Third Line combo of Formenton and Sokolov, I think that needs to be the foundation of the third line.

Somehow I don't think Watson makes it back next year, I see them moving from him unless he makes a big impact when he comes back.

I like having Sanderson and JDB in there, but I would think they also would have Branstrom in the lineup as well, if they keep him and resign him, it is because DJ is finally playing him.

I don't see Kelley not being in the starting lineup, as he is one way. I would also put Grieg ahead of Crookshank for making the team next year.

The Big question is what do they do with Paul and Murray. do they keep both, Paul doesn't really deserve to be a fourth-line player but hard to move him up the lineup as it is unless they move Tierney and White.

We will see how Sogard does in the AHL this year, but I could see that both him and Gus the Bus could be ready to split time in NHL next year.

I think the goal is to add a veteran winger next to Pinto and Stutzle and then drop Connor Brown to the 3rd line on a checking line. That gives us the best chance to be a contender

Yes, I really could see the Sens doing that as well, hence all the Giroux posts and comments, however, the question really is what do they have to give up to get it, the answer may be C Brown.

There was another post today that had C Brown going to the Oilers, but the return was not great, however, if not a Vet there could be a deal maybe for Yamamoto, Right-handed AHL top 6 prospect and 2nd for Brown, I think the Sens would have to think about that. You might have to go a little younger than a true Vet.

When you look at what Right shot Veteran players that can still play top 6 With Stu are available the list really is paper-thin.

Lines could change... I went with some kind of hierarchy but the actual season will give us a much better idea

oh wow, didn't notice that Parker Kelly had a 1 way, however it's only for the second year, in 2023-24

Watson not being back could actually open things up. Formenton working out on RW would be great too, gives more options

Tkachuk-Norris-Batherson
Stutzle-Pinto-Formenton
Paul-White-Brown
Crookshank-Kelly-Sokolov

I wish White could impore on face-offs.

I understand seeing Greig and Kelly above Crookshank but he'd be the one playing right now if it wasn't for this damn injury

Paul should be extended, shouldn't cost over 3.0, term would be 4-5 years max

Murray can be kept for now, go with Murray-Gustavsson for now

Sogaard will need to be Belleville N.1 next year and see a lot of pro shots, even for 2 years I'd say... he's still 20 y/o

If Greig has another top-end year in WHL he could progress a lot, he is playing all situations, has the C, getting all the minutes. I believe most are expecting that leads to him making a big jump in development, at that point coming into camp next year he is one of the top rookie players pushing for a rookie spot. That was my thinking here, as well, if Formenton - Sokolov doesn't become a thing, then Geig - Sokolov with picking your C would be a great line combo as well.

Don't discount that Tyler Boucher pushes for a spot on this team next year as well. He is rated by most scouts as the most physical Player in the 2021 draft, if you look up some of his highlights he destroys guys, and also has a good scoring touch and shot, he could very well become a Tom Wilson 2.0, plus he is a right hand shot RW. I read a few reports this summer that some people in the org think he will end up being the long-term RW with Stuzlte, so they may try to fast track him a little once the college season is done this year depending on how he plays. We know as well the team would love to add more physical players to help Brady not have to lead the league in the hits every year now with his contract.

Sogard will be interesting to watch this year in AHL, I am not sure if it will take him long to adapt to the level of play he played last year in Europe in the Men's top league and I for one believe and am pulling for him to be the real starter to the team when they are contending based on size, style, and his foot speed, I think he is better suited to succeed in the new younger faster NHL then Gus.
