Why? Trading from depth to fill holes. Seems to be logical/make sense. Improves the back end and allows Lindholm to move up to the top line!

Lindholm is our top line center.
Moving Johnny for a defensemen doesn't make sense for the Flames. We have a lot of LD in the system that can hopefully play top 4 minutes while Johnny is the main playmaker on the top line. Flames are more likely to re-sign Johnny then they are Rielly. So this trade just doesn't benefit the Flames.
