they're giving up too much for the "14th forward" on that team

Would prefer Legare in the trade talks or Poulin.

Why is it that skilled players have one down year and even despite a really nice track record get unfairly trashed, it's really disingenuous

Strome is in his prime and has two 50+ point seasons* under his belt; how on earth is he a healthy scratch on any team let alone one with so many injuries ^

*he was easily on pace for 50 that year

He was nearly on pace for 40 last year no less

Mostly a lack of secondary assists was the key

I’m sure the pens would prefer Dach or Debrincat too but…

Im not suggesting it be a 1 for 1 trade, but with us playing so poorly, we are unlikely buyers meaning we are going to want prospects/picks.

Btw, if your saying Poulin and Legare have the same value as Dach and Debrincat then something has gone awry.

Lol what on earth

They're not at the same level remotely

And just because they're the best PIT prospects doesn't make them that valuable either still just players who can be replaced by FAs in their prime

I think you missed the point of the comment lol. The person I was replying to said they’d rather get Poulin or Legare. If this was a year or 2 ago, then I would say that’s fair. But being Strome is a healthy scratch, his value isn’t as high. And I’d say this trade is pretty fair. Obviously the pens don’t have the assets to afford Dach or Debrincat. But wanting 1st round prospects for a healthy scratch is like pens fans wanting top talent for a prospect that’s likely a middle 6 winger at best.

Sure. Hallander is a prospect and a 2nd & 4th are picks. For a guy that’s currently a healthy scratch on a team playing poorly. Should his value be higher? Probably, but your teams coach is killing his value.

That’s what a Chicago reporter stated. He is currently their 14th forward. And if he can’t crack that lineup no one should break the bank for him

That's too much for Strome. Ditch the prospect and just send over a 2nd.

Top brass are reportedly after a top end prospect, whether that comes to fruition remains to be seen however of the 15 scouts in attendance at the recent game, PIT was one of them.

Yes the coach has hurt his value IMO, I would be happy to keep Strome and build him up with a new coach.
