Initial Creation Date: Oct. 22, 2021

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Eichel is meeting with the team for one final chance to convince them to get surgery, I think it's best for the sabres to take the risk either way right now. If you take the risk he will still want to be traded, so you play him until the TDL of the 2022-2023 season. If Eichel gets let's say a point per game in those games, this is the trade that I'd like the sabres to make.

Future team is what is shown, players not in my future plans are in LTIR. Players in Scratched could replace those in the lineup depending on development, IR is low chance but would be awesome if they developed and make the team.

      Too much

For Injured uncertain Eichel yes, but for the Eichel of 2 years ago this is far from too much, it's leaning on the almost not enough, I think 2 much would be Byfield instead of Turcotte.

I have a hard time imagining that just agreeing to let him have the surgery will all of the sudden reconcile the issues between these two. Their were issues long before this, and this is just what brought everything to a head. That being said, I could be way off.

Regarding trying to move him at the 22-23 deadline-That'd be a mistake. His NMC kicks in on July 1st, and that's going to further handcuff the Sabres. If you're Buffalo, you need to move him at some point around the draft. IMO, that's the best chance to get a solid return for him, espeically if he ends up back in the lineup at some point this season. Trying to move his $10 mil contract is easy for us, and easy for the media-types that are pushing rumors, but it definitely ain't easy in real life.

Getting the surgery doesn't fix it but I think it would help get him traded.

Kings aren't trading in effect four # 1 picks and taking on 10m in cap for Eichel. It's a Sabres fan dream.
Kings are a thousand times better keeping ELC with about 25 years of NHL control and spending 10m on UFA(s)

Emily kaplan said eichel is meeting with sabres management again today to plead his case for adr. The problem as i see it, is 40 million dollars. Thats the amount that insurance would cover if he were to get the adr and then be unable to play. If he is asking for the sabres permission to accept the responsibility here, this probably drags on for a bit. He can get the adr done this weekend, but if it goes sideways, the sabres can void his contract- this is more like worst case scenrio stuff, but the sabres arent on the hook for anything there. At least we know that there are 5 interested teams that have said they are ok with the adr, so at least we know that if he gets the adr, that 31 teams wont say "we only wanted him if he got the fusion".

You can't make a trade with LA because they are determined in wasting Kopitar, Brown, and Doughty waiting for their young players to get good - there is just to much gap and nothing to fill it in.

I think he has to have surgery and showcase his talents in the olympics. That hopefully puts the injured thing to bed for good. Of course then he likely chooses to not report for the remainder of the season and gets suspended without pay- if he isnt traded right after the olympics. The sabres are still driving the bus when the nmc kicks in, if he could have had his contract voided on medical grounds, he would have. So he would still be under contract for 4 additional years, and assuming he is healthy, he wouldnt be getting paid if he chooses to not report come next september. He has said he would not refuse a trade anywhere, of course that could change when he actually has leverage in his favor. I genuinely hope he gets surgery, comes back for the olympics, plays well, and a suitable trade can be worked out, right after the olympics end. Its ugly now, i dont wanna see how much uglier it can get.

How are they wasting them any longer, they signed Danault and Arvidsson to make a solid top-6. Vilardi, Tkachev, Athanasiou, Moore, Lemieux, and Byfield (when he comes back from injury) for the bottom 6. You see that as nothing?

if you can get Arvidsson back to where he was 2-3 years ago then maybe you have something - Danault plays good defense but he's not much of a goal scorer - LA should be able to make the playoffs in the pacific but I think they will spend another year crowing about their prospects and another decent draft-pick .

Fair-I'd just assume that sending him out there would be an even bigger risk to the Sabres, and would be curious as to the insurance ramifications.

They have looked great so far in my opinion, but the Kings really love defensive players like Danault and rarely get flashy guys like Arvidsson. Not to mention both have found the back of the net in their limited time with the team. The real struggle has been Vilardi's line but that's because they really need Andersson back.

Im assuming (not a lawyer) that if the sabres agree to the adr, that they would be guaranteeing his contract. Which is why i think this is dragging on. Its not like adams should care which procedure he gets done, as long as other teams will still want him if he gets the adr, why should they care?
