I think you should switch Grundstrom with Turcotte. 2.5 retain and you give up turcotte is too much. So switch them and either keep it that way or put in Kaliyev for turcotte.

No thanks. I'd rather have the franchise's best ever player around to teach Byfield than take a risk on a guy who might or might not ever be the same. Not to mention Turcotte and the 1st round picks.

Everyone says no thank you, except Boston, who would end up over the cap, anyway.

Two firsts and a second is kind of a lot to give up for three years of a 34 year old. Kopitar is awesome, but guys often fall off a cliff around that age. Don’t get me wrong, kopitar is awesome, and that cap hit is very enticing, but i struggle to think of a precedent for that kind of move.

The 4 firsts asking price was never a thing, and the Sabres arent waiting 5 years for their late 1sts to develop.

So Arizona (known to struggle financially for 10+ years, and kicking off another rebuild) buys a 2nd and Grundstrom for $10M+.

You really think that would happen in real life?

If Buffalo is refusing to retain on Jack Eichel, why would they ever consider retaining on Kopitar‘s multi year contract?

I think that the way the Kings are currently structured, with excellent strength down the middle both on the current roster (Kopitar and Danault) and coming up (Byfield, Turcotte, Vilardi, and others), we really aren't a good fit for Jack Eichel. I wouldn't mind spending those kind of assets (but not Kopi or Danault) on a first-class LD like Jakob Chychrun or Mikhail Sergachev (not that it's likely), but not on Eichel (even if he returns to full form).

Well they are in a win now mode and basically have this season to go for it. Maybe next year. Kopitar also only has 2 years left on the deal. Pasta needs a new deal in 2023 and that's when you get some money from Kopitars contract expiring. I like Kopitar on the kings but if Eichel goes to LA this might be how to get it done

kopitar would put the bruins as probably the offensive and defensive power houses in the league. maybe replace a 1st with debrusk. lines would be
    1st perfection line
    2nd hall, kopi, smitty
    3rd foligno haula, coyle
    4th freddy, nosek, lazar
all 3 of those top lines would be amazing defensively and offensively
3 selke candidates(marchy, bergy, kopi) and foligno, coyle, haula, lazar, nosek are very solid in the dzone aswell
