No thanks from the Caps. The defense has been really good the first four games, and if we decide we want to bring in reinforcements, it won't be someone that costs two 1st rounders.

Or a right hander. We have 4 already. I really like Petry but he isn't worth 2 1sts.

A certain no from Winnipeg. The Jets have no need or cap space for Chiarot and if you want a first for him, he won't be going anywhere.

Petry to Vancouver. Woo + Myers + 1st?

Price to Edmonton. More retention and we'll have to limit our goaltending budget to $5/6M until Price's contract ends (Allen at $3-4 and Primeau).

Pelletier from Calgary should be a target, but Toffoli and Hoffman should wait until next year to be traded, so what else works?

We need to get some RHD prospects in a trade-off scenario. With Petry gone, we have Savard and holes ready for someone to step into, but nobody ready to do so.

Lol the league had forever to offer up what montreal gave to Hoffman, and declined. You think anyone is offering up a 1st and a 2nd? I think the habs would be lucky to get the second.

You don't think playoff Price at $5/6M would be appealing to Edmonton? I don't get what you're saying.

He's been below average 3 of the past 4 years, is injury prone and getting hot for a couple of weeks behind one of the best defense corps in the league doesn't change that. Seattle didn't take him for free, remember? They certainly would have if they could have got 3 NHL players, a top prospect and a 1st for him, don't you think?

We're talking about playoffs, where he's been outstanding. Seattle had different priorities and probably wasn't willing to retain almost 50%.
Edmonton's priority is to win now and they haven't been able to go deep in the playoffs with McDavid. Price helps them do that.

I dunno about the package proposed here, as I don't think Edmonton moves Holloway. Lavoie and some picks plus necessary pieces, conditions can be included.
