Sharks TDL

Created by: KMarner10
Team: 2021-22 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 27, 2021
Published: Oct. 22, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Note - I do not watch the Sharks that often, but this is something that I think could help the team in the long run. Lots of cap space, great young players, and this team could either be good enough to push for the playoffs or fall into a lottery spot.

Hertl resigned around 8x8 , Dahlen, Studnicka, Barabanov all resigned for 2-5 years depending on what they deserve.

Couture was only traded because it benefitted both teams - Boston got their 2C, SJ got a 1st in a stacked draft class, a middle 6 forward in Coyle and a good young forward that can compliment Eklund and Dahlen.

Also - These were just hypothetical trades that I don't think are going to happen. Some of the values could be way off.

I don’t see a team giving you positive assets for Kane

That's what I think, but when he plays he is a good scorer with Grit. At $4M he could be good for the top 9 and he seems like someone who would excel in playoff hockey. Plus, they signed DeAngello so I am a bit reluctant to say that they wouldn't give Kane a look.

I'm a bit confused here...is Arizona retaining $2 mil on Couture for 5 years (Plus whatever money remained this year...let's leave it at $10 mil total for now though), and $750k for 4+ years ($3 mil total) on Coyle? Because the cost of getting them to do that would be hilariously high. Just the $3 mil over 4 years on Coyle would be more than a 4th+5th.

With Kane...far more likely to see him get waived and end up in the AHL or being paid to sit home (followed by a buyout this summer) than for someone to actually give up assets for him.

Hertl is interesting, not Couture and his contract.

No one is going to take couture, let alone give up those assets for him.

Teams can spend 7m a lot better than for the newest version of Kane. Kinda the same situation with 8m Couture

Outside of the deals and their values, the Coyotes can't retain 2 more they already have 2 on the books and the max is 3

4C is a pretty big stretch.

Being a sharks fan, do you really want to be throwing shade at other teams for overpaying players?

coyles probably a fringe 2c. more suited as a winger, or 3c. dont think hes overpaid especially when cap jumps

He’s definitely definitely definitely not more suited as a winger. Very much the opposite.

His best stretch of production as a bruin was as a winger lol.

Canes won’t trade for Kane. If Kane gets bought out, Canes might consider signing him on a 1x1 deal to make a deep run in the playoffs, but I don’t see Carolina having both Kane and DeAngelo on the roster at the same time. In terms of a Kane trade, the Sharks want out of Kane so they will have to pay a pretty penny to dump him on someone else. Kane will not return positive assets. You might get a late round pick but the cost to dump him will heavily offset the trade.

No it wasn’t. The Bruins have been very open about how much better he is at center. They tried him at wing. It didn’t work.

My players are paid accordingly. As we have gotten rid of our cancer, we are dominating the league wink Your team is next

First off, you don’t have players. You’re a fanboy. None of this is yours. You aren’t an owner, GM, player, or coach.

The sharks stink. Ya, they came out of the gate hot, and managed to beat three bad teams, and one okay one. Hooorayyyy! They have four of the most overpaid players in the league, and that cancer is coming back.

You think Karlsson is paid appropriately? He’s at best an okay second pair D and is the highest paid d man in the league.

We clearly dominated the Bs in the 3rd. Pretty close for a team that's supposed to finish bottom 3 in the league. Made the Bruins panic at the end. B's got away with a couple obvious penalties as well. I think we'll take the next one with ease wink

    Your team is very unimpressive.

Ah. So refs fault and even though the sharks lost they were better. Cool.

They beat a few bad teams. Whatever. The team stinks. The contracts are horrid, and your language here makes me think the sharks could be 0-82 and you’d be saying they were actually one of the top teams in the league. Later.

I’m sure he’ll figure out a way to explain all the losses. It’s pretty clear that the sharks are brutal, but he’ll tell you otherwise. Contracts are great too apparently.

My question was is the start sustainable? I think we know the answer now
