They need too tank this year, so trading our 2 top goal scorers is a good way too keep tanking. IMO this line up is really decent. The D is the big question mark

I agree for now, if he keeps playing well no trade needed. But if it becomes an issue, maybe Allen vs EDM 1st and Smith ?
Otherwise they can hold on too him and hopefully he’s good in the postseason

avs decline, that is an overpay for a 2nd line winger. Moving a 1st and their 3C for a 2W makes 0 sense

Newhook could take that 3C spot and Helm/Paquette fight for the 4C

They arent rushing newhook. Plus Jost is one of the best defensive fwds and a big cog on the PK
Everyway you lok at it, its a massive overpayment for a 2nd ing winger, easy decline

Toffoli produced like a 1st winger last year playoffs included
Don’t know why you are calling him a 2nd line winger

Hes a 2nd line winger bc hes a 2nd line winger his whole career. and in Colorado he would...you guessed it, a 2nd line winger

And a guy producing at is pace is worth a 1st alone in your opinion while considering is current contract

1 outlier year in production in a division with notoriously poor goaltending does not set his value.

This year he has 0 goals and 1 assist in 5 games so if he is some sort of point per game talent winger (which he never has been 99% of his career), why is his struggling if thats his current production.

Hes a 2nd line winger on a good team lets not pretend he is anything more

I agree, he is, but a good 2nd line winger on a good team is worth more than a 1st round pick. Everyone single MTL players are bad this year, our best players are Allen and ****ing Brett Kulak

You aren’t getting a 1st round pick and a young cost controlled 3c for him. His contract isn’t a steal, it’s market value for a 2nd like winger
