Chiarot makes a lot of stupid decisions and he is not a good skater. They need a puck moving defenseman who can generate offense. Chiarot isn’t that guy

We got bad defenseman traded for 3rd round picks prior trade dead lines, I think Chiarot can easily return a 2nd and I sent you a 4th because you were missing one

70% of players drafted in the 2nd round don’t make it to the NHL. So you are trading Toffoli for a 30% chance of a player who might play in the big league ? A 35 yo Plekanec making 6M (half retained) on an deal that expired returns a 2nd, like Boyle and other decent 4th liner. Toffoli on is current deal is worth 3X what guys like Pleky Boyle brought back especially in a flat cap era

Compher is a decent player, but for a team rebuilding with a lot of top 9 players, we don’t NEED him. So we don’t sees him as valuable.

And no, 1st and Beaucage isn’t worth it
