Who would've thought that the Sens would be buyers (so soon)?

I truly think they’re Sanderson and one sniper winger away from being very dangerous. They have been having so many scoring chances just not burying them

It’s not way off. 10th overall in a deep draft + Brannstrom and Greig. Both should be top 6 and top 4D .

By your lineup posted....I was thinking a Dman and an upgrade at 3rd line centre. But I certainly think the Sens are a rapidly rising team with good young players and cap to spend in the next few years.

We can always keep White , he’s a good 3C. Paul is a very good 3rd line, he shuts down the game. Made me sweat a bit when he was in the box for 5 mins in the 3rd

That doesn't get you Alex Debrincat, If he's truly available Detroit would beat that offer to bring him home to Motown rather easily..

Are u offering Zadina + Albert Johansson and a top 10 pick to beat that offer then?

If that's what it takes yes, Debrincat replaces Zadina, Johansson will be good but we've others that can replace him if need be. And a 10th pick i'd do that for a 30 to 40 goal scorer rather easily.

How can it be 10th OA if Ottawa is adding their essentially final piece? Grieg hasnt proven to be a guaranteed top 6 playerq same with Brannstrom. That pick even if its 10th still probably wont be as good as Cat

This would entirely depend on debrincats extension. It's gonna be a big one and if it's Ottawa doing the negotiation then he instantly insists on more then Brady and I think that becomes a problem for Melnyk

Greig was picked in the 1st round and is a pretty good prospect , had great numbers last year in the WHL. Brannstrom is a top 4D , doesn’t matter if the coach wants to play him or not. He’s a 2nd pairing D right now, is a top PP QB too and will put up 40pts a year minimum

Sorry, but you can’t get a guy like DeBrincat (Combination of Age, Contract, Skill) without giving up a similar guy immediately. None of the assets going to Chicago fills that requirement, and they are not interested in trading him.

If you don’t want to trade Debrincat even if you end up rebuilding, can we get Kubalik or Toews?

No I’m not. Greig had 32pts in 21 games last year in the WHL as an 18 year old. He was a 1st round pick.

Brannstrom is a top 4 Dman, he was our 3rd best D this year in preseason and last year. He was on pace for 35pts playing limited minutes. Ppl love to underrate him on this site just cause he got sent down

No this draft is extremely deep . Any top 10 pick in this draft will be very good. This is the equivalent of at least 3-3.5 1st round picks in this package

If Chicago rebuilds the last player they would trade is Cat given his age

Yeah I figured . He’s also the one that would get the most interest from Chicago too

Kubalik is pretty damn good and not far behind and that's an asset the Hawks may part with if they truly are rebuilding along with Kane and Toews.
