I’d do that trade if our pick is no higher than 10 and there was a decent extension in place

There’s very little reason to believe that Bryan Little will ever play again. So I very much doubt the Sabres have any interest in eating his contract.

I think he’s just trying to use it to get to the cap floor. He’s on LTIR anyways

Since we’re talking next season I doubt the Sabres need to throw away money on non-assets.

Well if they they trade Eichel for ELC pieces they might have issues getting to the floor. Probably getting compensation for short term bad contracts is your best bet

I doubt if San Jose trades in effect two first, two seconds and takes all that Eichel cap. Keep those young players and spend 10m on UFAs in the offs season.

At the very least any contract they take on will be a player who actually plays, not a $5 million LTIR guy.

Not necessarily, what difference does it make to us? Moreover, try to present rosterfor the next season, there will not be much room for the players. I think a dump would not be such a bad option to get to the floor.

I like Bordeleau and Weisblatt, but I don't understand why Hertl in Ottawa and for such pick. Maybe find another team, the more I think Hertl could get a better return. So far, the situation with his contract is not clear and whether he will remain in San Jose or not.

Currently the Sabres have a lot of one-year deals on the roster, I can’t imagine all of them would come back. Naturally the roster will depend very much on what we ever get back for Jack Eichel. They certainly have a couple young players in Rochester that might just make the team next year, but no one knows what kind of availability there will be until after we have made that trade with Eichel. That said, a veteran on a short term deal might not be the worst thing for this team next year.
