Description
Why did Montreal save all of their offense for tonight? Doesn’t help that Hronek and Bert are both out of the lineup. I know Hronek hasn’t been great so far, but eliminating him from the lineup takes away our one defensemen that can play big minutes (other than Seider, but that’s up for debate). This season is looking like another one with tempered expectations and a good start followed by a huge losing streak that foreshadows a bottom 5 finish. Is it bad that I almost can’t feel it anymore? I can’t even be mad anymore, just depressed that things are going to hell yet again.

You got 4 cups in a period of like 10-12 years. It’s not that big of a deal.

I wasn’t there for that, only just became an NHL hockey fan before the 2019-20 season (probably a bad time to become a Wings fan tbh). One cup in my lifetime, and I wasn’t aware of it when it happened because I was too young. I can appreciate the history, but there’s no nostalgia to be had.

I’ve only seen 38 wins in the 131 games the Wings have played since I started following them in 2019, just one more than the Rangers had in their last (almost) full season. Don’t mistake me for a Detroit fan that’s seen their success, because I most certainly have not.

Ohh, that’s a lot tougher than. Literally when the rebuilding was at its hardest levels. I’ve been a Rangers fan for as long as I can remember (around lockout time in 04-05) and still in my early 20s, so excuse my suffering as it’s been quite a while seeing as how they last won before I was born.

My expectations before the season and continued expectations are that the Wings should be better than last year but not by a huge margin. Not close to a playoff contender.

With their best scorer Vrana out, DDK not being great, two very talented but inexperienced rookies, a goaltender with 31 NHL games played, the list goes on; I can't expect them to be a .500+ team.

You're right, it doesn't feel good playing an amazing game against the b2b champs for the home opener then getting cooked by the Canadians who have been terrible this year.

If the Wings draft high next year in what some say is a talent stacked draft pool they'll be in the playoffs in the next year or two. I hope

Give it two more years, don't give up hope bud. Holland really screwed this team pushing for playoff success and an unprecedented playoff streak. If you want to get some good feels about the team, watch some junior hockey with some of the top draft eligible players, then maybe you can cheer for the losing. Lol
