If I'm asking the question, it's not because I don't think there is... it's because I want people to name them with the players...

I don't have time to do this exercise for 30 more teams lol

So?

Do you mean teams with only their drafted players or their current rosters?

To compare apples with apples, it would be drafted players per team

But you could also compare apples and oranges too, how many teams currently have 2 better D-men than Karlsson and Chabot?

Drafted Teams: Anaheim (Lindholm, Fowler), Arizona (Chychrun, Murphy), Boston (Hamilton, McAvoy), Calgary (Fox, Andersson), Carolina (Slavin, Pesce), Colorado (Makar, Girard), Dallas (Heiskanen, Klingberg), Minnesota (Brodin, Dumba). Those are just the first few I could think of.

Hey again. I was curious about this so I have created a public poll on a popular website with fans from all teams

I asked "Which team(s) drafted 2 currently better D-men than Chabot/Karlsson?".

I didn't ask for prime/peak/career because I think it would have been Karlsson/Chabot unanimously so that's why I have asked currently

Here are the results

Anaheim (Hampus Lindholm, Cam Fowler)
1 vote(s) 0.9%
Arizona (Jakob Chychrun, Connor Murphy)
2 vote(s) 1.7%
Boston (Dougie Hamilton, Charlie McAvoy)
56 vote(s) 47.9%
Calgary (Adam Fox, Rasmus Andersson)
4 vote(s) 3.4%
Carolina (Jaccob Slavin, Brett Pesce)
17 vote(s) 14.5%
Colorado (Cale Makar, Samuel Girard)
19 vote(s) 16.2%
Dallas (Miro Heiskanen, John Klingberg)
37 vote(s) 31.6%
Minnesota (Jonas Brodin, Matt Dumba)
2 vote(s) 1.7%
Tampa Bay (Victor Hedman, Tony DeAngelo)
10 vote(s) 8.5%
Other (mention and I'll add the option)
7 vote(s) 6.0%
None (Chabot and Karlsson are the best)
26 vote(s) 22.2%
Colorado (Cale Makar, Tyson Barrie)
10 vote(s) 8.5%
Nashville (Roman Josi, Seth Jones)
34 vote(s) 29.1%
St. Louis (Alex Pietrangelo, Colton Parayko)
30 vote(s) 25.6%
Montreal (McDonagh, Sergachev)
0 vote(s) 0.0%

As you can see, among your suggestions, Anaheim, Arizona, Calgary and Minnesota weren't really popular choices while Boston, Carolina, Colorado (although Girard was not drafted by them) and Dallas were

My poll was slightly messed up because I couldn't fix the Colorado problem so there was 2 Colorado options... wouldn't suprise me if some people voted for both

Personally voted for Boston, Dallas and St. Louis

Forgot that they didn't draft Girard.

I don't really know why Anaheim didn't get a lot of votes. Fowler was overrated for a few years, but is underrated now. I don't think Lindholm is better than Chabot, but they're pretty similar. If we're talking just the players and disregard their contracts, age, etc. I'd take Lindholm-Fowler over Chabot-Karlsson any day of the week.

I think I'd put Bryam > Barrie for Colorado.

Tampa and Anaheim are better than Ottawa imo.

I forgot the Isles with Pelech and either Toews or Pulock who should be above Ottawa as well.

Yeah at some point it's a matter of opinion

Karlsson looks much better this year, looks like he has been healing from injuries a bit

I was just letting you know what the concensus was, not many saw Anaheim as better. Also, agree to disagree but I don't think Lindholm and Chabot are similar whatsoever

The poll was not including young unproven players because it was not about projecting. If it was, I would go Karlsson + Chabot + Sanderson vs anyone

Hedman is the best but their 2nd choice doesn't compare to most players in the list.

Pelech-Toews/Pulock is a good duo, would have received votes

I think a lot of people didn't vote for Anaheim because they aren't watched as much and people don't realize how good Lindholm really is. Chabot is better, but Lindholm isn't as far off as you might think.

Karlsson has looked better, but Fowler is still better than him imo.

I hate what DeAngelo has done off the ice but he's not a bad Defenseman. I think they would be close to Ottawa.

Didn't realize you were a Ducks fan, should have looked at your picture

Someone actually said a better Ducks duo would have been Hampus Lindholm and Shea Theodore

Don't worry, I know how good Lindholm is, I think he's underrated in general but not by me. I would have him as a top-30 D-man, which was not the case in this series of polls in August :

1) Victor Hedman (57.2%)
2) Cale Makar (70.1%)
3) Adam Fox (51.7%)
4) Alex Pietrangelo (26.7%)
5) Roman Josi (28.7%)
6) Charlie McAvoy (40.2%)
7) Miro Heiskanen (28.1%)
8) Jaccob Slavin (22.0%)
9) Dougie Hamilton (33.1%)
10) John Carlson (20.9%)
11) Aaron Ekblad (27.6%)
12) Shea Theodore (40.7%)
13) Kris Letang (21.7%)
14) Seth Jones (22.7%)
15) Jakob Chychrun (21.5%)
16) Zach Werenski (24.7%)
17) Thomas Chabot (28.0%)
18) Drew Doughty (22.6%)
19) Darnell Nurse (28.9%)
20) Ivan Provorov (16.3%)
21) Quinn Hughes (19.8%)
22) Jeff Petry (23.8%)
23) Jared Spurgeon (14.0%) (Tiebreaker: 63.8%)
24) Morgan Rielly (18.9%)
25) Adam Pelech (18.9%)
26) John Klingberg (24.7%)
27) Ryan McDonagh (27.0%)
28) MacKenzie Weegar (21.9%)
29) Devon Toews (19.8%)
30) Colton Parayko (16.9%)

Chabot was 17th and Karlsson not voted though, like HL and Fowler. But Shea Theodore was 12th

It should have been Theodore. I kept forgetting it was all drafted players, not only those still on the teams that drafted them.

Nice to see you thinking Lindholm is Top 30. In my opinion he is but I might be biased.
