You think Manson, who is on an expiring deal, is worth a top 6 F, our best defensive prospect and a 2nd? Damn...

Zucker wouldn't be a top-6 forward on the Ducks, and that's saying something. I think that the reason why you've included him in this trade is to get him off your books, not acquire a similar-value player.

No one would exchange your "best defensive prospect" for Henri Jokiharju, Conor Timmons, Nick Hague or Dylan Samberg, to name just four guys taken after him.

And you have conveniently left out the retention. If you're going to ask for and acquire him, then the retention is, by definition, an added benefit.

Yes, we do need cap space off our books, but he is still at least a 40-point player.
If we are moving Zucker, we do not need the retention.. regardless, I think Manson on his own gets you guys a 2nd and a decent prospect.
