Description

I thought the Eric Staal trade from the 2015-2016 season (Two seconds and Aleksi Saarela, who was a 2015 3rd round pick for NYR) would be an appropriate comparison.

Also, please ignore the lines. They are based on a healthy Rangers lineup, which is inevitably not going to be the case for the remainder of the season. The 5 scratched players are the players who I expect to have significant roles while some players are temporarily sidelined.

My understanding is management will only trade Kravtsov in a hockey move for a younger player.

you can probably get him 50% retained with just Kravtsov, at most Kravtsov and a 3rd

I think that's only just the case if the Rangers were to sell Vitali Kravtsov. Management just wants to hold onto Kravtsov (or another prospect of his tier) to potentially use as an asset in a package for a bigger piece.

Couldn't a package like this fetch a higher level player I mean Kravstov still is at worst quite a good asset and those 2nds might not be that late thanks to Drury

Though this is nitpicking, I think my package is equivalent to three 2nds, similar to the Eric Staal trade 5 years ago as I posted in description.
