Should they just sell of everything

Created by: Connor_McJesus_97
Team: 2021-22 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 25, 2021
Published: Oct. 25, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
They have had a horrible start to this season. Should they embrace the rebuild? Jones is not tradeable obviously but players like Kane, Toews and Fleury could get shipped. They would bring some nice assets and you have Wright, Bedard and Michkov to look forward to. Getting a chance at getting them would surely not hurt. Kane and Toews could just resign here in 2023.
Trades
1.
CHI
  1. Coyle, Charlie
  2. Studnicka, Jack
  3. 2022 1st round pick (BOS)
  4. 2023 1st round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
Would Boston do this?
BOS
  1. Kane, Patrick ($5,250,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Would Kane agree to this? Would Chicago do this? What would Kane with 50% retained cost?
2.
CHI
  1. DeBrusk, Jake
  2. Smith, Craig
Additional Details:
DeBrusk comes with a 2x4.5 contract. Would Boston do this? Would they be interested in both in Kane and Toews.
BOS
  1. Toews, Jonathan ($5,250,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Would Chicago do this? Would Boston do this? Detroit retain 1.25m on Toews contract and gets a 3rd from Boston for the trouble. Would Detroit do that? Would Boston do that?
3.
CHI
  1. 2023 4th round pick (NYI)
NYI
  1. Carpenter, Ryan
Additional Details:
Whoever wants him for a 4th
4.
CHI
  1. Koskinen, Mikko
  2. 2022 2nd round pick (EDM)

This is a good deal for him because Chicago gives him a new deal that he never would have got in Edmonton. He actually has been solid so far this season but Fleury on the Oilers would still be something. Would Oilers do this?
EDM
  1. Fleury, Marc-André ($3,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Would Chicago do this?
5.

Absolutely

Should've done it before sending out their '22 1st

That barely has any protection on it but, yeah, 😊

The coyle contract is so bad tho

That's much of the cost for just taking it

Naturally CHI won't be competing but nevertheless

The cool part of Gustafsson is that he's one of the best offensive D of his generation and especially if they're rebuilding they can give him tons of PP toi

Then just flip him at the deadline

He can be beside seth on the top pair

Right now it's looking like the Seth Jones deal is going to be the end of Stan Bowman's duties in Chicagoland. Jones is already looking like a bad deal. Kane and Toews should be 100% dealt out of Chicago. The Hawks are easily heading towards a rebuild here and it's not even close.

hopefully for them they finish top 2 so they get to keep their pick. Imagine them finishing dead last and getting the 3rd pick lol. So they can't keep it. Coyle contract is rough but he gets a bigger role here. Could grab a top 6 role, improve his value and then you send him away with money retained for something. He also helps them getting above the capfloor aswell. I think Boston with both Kane and Toews is scary good.

Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak
Hall-Toews-Kane

That top 6 is brutal. Could easily score 4+ goals each night with that

dont see either deal happening from boston or chicagos perspective. coyle is already in a 2c role... idk how much bigger of a role hes getting in chicago except pp opportunity? Boston cant trade their entire center depth/youth away for maybe 2 years of playoffs

Hawks decline every one of those deals. If they haven't dealt kane and toews by now they're not gonna deal them for such a small return

As things stand now oilers decline kosk has been better to start the year and no sense tampering with what has been working. I could see a coaching change come in the very near future.

Kane and Toews are going nowhere. I have to wonder if MAF would go to Edmonton because he has a M-NTC. Would he leave Chicago? As of now I have to think he would because they are a train wreck. I think edmonton has to factor in a contract for next year on whatever goalie they get. Koskinen would also be worth keeping 1 more year to get through the cap crunch.

I think the Jets would bring up Heinola/Samberg instead of trading for Gustafsson, but for the price of a 7th round pick someone will take him.
