Description

To put it politely, Seattle's team is in a rough shape. They chose poorly in the expansion draft and their FA signings have not been panning out so far.

The current areas that need addressing are center and Top 6 wingers. They can tank and aim to land Shane, but as we know from the ill-fated Thrashers and the Yotes, fans will only have so much patience for poor performing teams. Thus, I think the Kraken will need to make some significant trades to get themselves in a better position (for next season, anyways). In the Buffalo trade, assume Francis green-lights the experimental surgery Eichel wants.

The habs would likely take that deal BUT if the 1st is protected you wouldnt be able to trade the 2023 1st rounder in the buffalo trade. You would have to flip 1sts with the florida one.

Okay but why are the Kraken doing this their first year? I know Vegas was a nice story but I think Seattle fans are happy they have a team right now. No point in wasting draft potential when you could try targeting franchise pieces in the draft..
