Seeing White in there is almost an immediate deal breaker for the hawks. With the players they have to resign (yes you traded one away) but not just next year as White will have 3 years left, and the dumps of Johnson and Connolly they’ve already taken on. Using what cap space they have to acquire Colin White is just not a good move.

Yeah we can change White. I just thought he’d be a good fit on the Hawks. He’s not a bad player but probably more of a high end 3C . They could maybe pump up his value , use him for a year then trade him

If we trade Kubalik the hawks are eigther doing it in a package for a 1LD or if its a futures deal we're getting a 1st back

Ok I’d do a 1st at the draft once the order is set as long as the pick isn’t super high

Brandstrom+2022 1st could work. You can drop white. Assuming of course that pick isn't super early in the draft

Isn’t that low for a 30 goal scorer ?

Not a huge sample size, only 2-3 years. And his point totals are nothing crazy. He's definitely valuable I just don't see him as a 7 mil a year guy and neither to most other hawks fans i've talked to

Looking at this trade in the context of the Mark Stone trade with Vegas, I would say this is a rather generous offer for Kubalik.

Regardless of how much Colin White would be a deal-breaker for the Hawks.

In the Stone trade, Mark Stone was a pending UFA and Ottawa got Brannstrom and a really late 2nd for him.

Next season, Kubalik will also be a pending UFA.

If Kubalik were to be traded to Ottawa next year just like Stone was to Vegas, Ottawa should keep Colin White and pay no more than Brannstrom and Tampa's 2nd.

Even then, it's still being generous because Kubalik is not the player that Mark Stone was and never will be.

No 2 trades are ever comparable. Some guys go for less and some more.

That may be.

But I want just compensation for being shortchanged in the Mark Stone trade.
