Wild All In

Description
Based on a handful of games so far, I wish to see Fiala + Foligno even more. Hartman seems to be solid at C, though I am worried about face offs a little bit. For a deep playoff run, we need some additions. Getzlaf brings some leadership, physical presence and help at C. Giordano might help with Spurgeon. Although Goligiski was good, I cannot see any significant improvement in Jared’s game so far. Overall, bringing two captains to a team never hurts. Even for a trade deadline overpayment like that.

Giordano was just named captain. They won't be trading him

When he was selected I instantly thought of him as a tdl asset. Some teams may even offer a 1st and beat my proposal. Btw, Columbus traded their long term captain in Foligno last tdl.

Wild all in, Wild just got lit up by the Preds 5-2, And fat chance of either Giordano or Getzlaf waiving for Minnesota.

Well, Tampa just got fleeced by the Sabres.

Yea but you don't trade a newly named captain

He is 38 years old on an expiring contract. This is not a long term commitment anyways.

Buffalo is playing very good hockey, But it wont last over a 82 game schedule.

Bad days happen. If Kaprizov and Spurgeon improve their play, it is gonna be even better. Either way, I expect Wild doing some moves in order to go for it one last time before the cap penalty rises.

I’d prefer Carter over Getz in the aging but effective vet center category. And I’d pass on Gio. Kulikov isn’t the problem.

Pittsburg is likely contending as well. On Gio, I just want to make Spurgeon play his game. So far, Goligoski looks like a more offensive kind of guy on that pair.

Yeah PIT would def be more receptive if they’re bubble vs contender, but for the price you’re paying on Getz, I think PIT strongly considers either way.

It’s not like Spurgeon is or ever has been an offensive juggernaut…

Spurgeon has been playing his game. Goli just is nowhere near the babysitter that Suter (or Scandella) was.
