Well Jets don’t have the cap space and r perfectly happy with Lowry at 3rd C

And Toews has far from proven he’s worth a 1st at a 5 mill cap hit

That's a really low price going from a late 1st to early 2nd for a very big upgrade at the 3C and the cap space difference with Toews retained is only $1.5M. I did the rough math, Jets will have the room for this.

Colton Dach at 3 C seems very generous

Maybe in 2025?

But anyhow it makes the pun title work so 👍

Drop Mitchell and a first and add some prospects Buffalo actually needs and that might be interesting

Why evaluate only one aspect of a trade 😐

Jets don’t even have room to run a 23 man roster…. Never mind adding 1.5

Didn’t notice the 2nd tbh

But Jets pass

I don't understand your comment. I am a penguins fan so yes I evaluated the pens side of the trade?

Toews isn't waiving for Winnipeg and the Jets can't fit him under the cap and aren't giving up their shutdown center and a 1st for 2 years of a declining Toews.

That'd be a great trade for the Jets but they wouldn't do it, they have a hard on for Lowry's for some reason.

I agree that the trade probably doesn't work but why wouldn't Johnny come play for his home town team? especially if we are in a contending spot near the deadline

I just can't see a guy uprooting his family and life for two years on another team. He's won his Cups and has nothing to prove. That's why guys have NMC's added to their contracs, because they don't want to move.

Toews doesn't have a family and even sold his expensive condo in Chicago this past year. He goes home during the offseason. I definitely think he would be the one to waive versus Kane who lives in Chicago year round with his kid and gf and trains year round in Chicago. Toews is the opposite of that.

Maybe you're right then. I just can't see the Jets having any interest in such a hefty price and the cap issues it brings with the trade. I think they Jets are perfectly happy rolling with Scheifele, Dubois, Lowry who just signed a new extension.
